The Buaya Sangkut Waterfalls

...For those driver, continue on the road to Mersing. About 3 kilometers out of Kahang town, there should be a junction on your left. The entrance to a 56 kilometers drive to the Park. Partially paved, this track was interesting to drive on and should take you more than an hour....

Lata Puteh Waterfalls

This was a waterfall that can be seen as soon as road user leaves the small village of Ijok. It is up in the hills. A white streak. Then about 2 kilometers before reaching the foothills, that white streak can be seen clearly now as a waterfall.

Since I first saw it some years back, I have being trying to confirm whether it was possible to river trek from the main road to the foot of the waterfall. This trip in 2004, we went.

Good news is - The base near the waterfall was cleared and the water works department had condoned up the area as well. The bad news was - We had to break into the compound to hike up to the point where the water dropped. No problem! The fencing was broken into in many sections. But still after scaling the very steep hill sloop, we couldn't find traces of the waterfall. It must have hit the ground and scattered among the boulders. Meaning all of us, would expect some sort of pool at the base of the waterfall. No, we did not. The water recollected beneath the boulders and flowed out as a stream.

So this is one waterfall for viewing and photography only. No recommendation and you need not get yourself prepared.

Strange! Isn't it? There are destination that you can only see.

How to get there?

First get to Batu Kurau. From there, head for the border with Perak State. Only upon coming close to the border, proper road signs would appear.

So, if you are driving on a West-East direction across the "Pass" then you just cannot miss seeing the waterfall. But if you coming from Lenggong or Grik, then watch for it after passing an earlier waterfall "Tebing Tinggi."

Have to be more observant as there are no signage indicating the waterfalls. The names are picked up by me using the small insignificant signs at the river crossing the road.

Try Whisky... I think it's better... :cheeky:

use whisky to drive your car

did you know that the grains used to make whisky also makes bioethanol, a fuel for cars? Bioethanol not only produces 65% less green house gases, it is also the preferred fuel by race car drivers. one hectare of wheat produces enough fuel to drive a car 29,000 miles. with so many more cars to hit the roads and highways in China, it might be a good idea to drive like the racecar drivers.

WHISKY TO DRIVE YOUR CAR

Not that it is impossible, came across an article that a guy ever fueled his R100GS with whisky when he ran out of petrol... can't find that article... :weep:

The most durable car is a diesel engine, a 1957 Mercedes 180D, which traveled 1.9M km in 21 years. The kilometres traveled are equivalent to 5 times the distance to the moon from the face of the earth!

Did You Know?
