The years thunder by.

The drams of youth grow dim where they lie caked in dust on the shelves of patience.

Before we know it, the tomb is sealed.

Where, then, lies the answer?

In choice. Which shall it be: bankruptcy of purse or bankruptcy of life?

http://w6rec.com/duane/bmw/emblem/award_emblem.jpg

This is the high mileage award emblem for documenting 100,000 miles. It is awarded by the factory via a BMW dealer. It is new and still in the unopened cellophane wrapper. This one has silver letters.

Riders, it's time to claim your award... :cheer:

http://w6rec.com/duane/bmw/emblem/BMW_emblem_decal.jpg

Stephen Ascherl hooked me up with the BMW racing roundels I was looking for. These are water-slip decals and are 64mm across. They were used on race bikes because the screw-in roundels could be dangerous on the track....like when they come unscrewed. Also, the decals weigh almost nothing.

You would soak them in warm water for a couple of seconds and then apply them to the tank. Peel off the backing paper and blow dry. Just like with model airplanes. They then get covered with a clear coat. Thanks to ???

For the super fast rider who lost their oridinary emblems at super high speed...

Hi Guys, recently just got to read more about the BMW R1200GS and I'm getting really interested in this beauty... If possible, can some experienced BMW Riders here answer my questions? Thanx a lot~! :cheer:

1. What is the difference between R 1200 GS and R1200 GS Adventure? I look at the photos from Performance Motor's website and the only difference I can spot is the type of tyre used.

2. What is the cost like for each of them and is Performance Motor the only place to get them?

3. Is it comfortable riding at constant speed like 180km/h?

Thanx a lot for those who are gonna help~!

Quite some difference between the 2.

GS is much smaller. Weight and size wise. GSA larger 33 litre tank and much taller. Larger windscreen and other accessories that is not on a GS.

Machine 39+ against 44+

And yes it is comfortable at that speed. But enduros are usually not built for cruising at the sort of speed. But it is still comfortable.

But if you are looking for speed then the GS is not the bike. Try the K1200S or even the RT which can go a tat faster than the GS and much more comfort.
