ok, then. Sat morning prata at Causarina Curry, junction of upper Thomson Road and Yio Chu Kang Road.

Timing? You guys can suggest.

Sorry guys, I cannot make it. Having a bad flu now, lost my sense of balance, will crash the bike if I ride.

just morning my bike due for inspection (14 july), realize my left signal, hazard light and horn not working. stop one side to check and wonder if i still should go for inspection. decided not to go, but after move off to office, everything seem ok. so i go ahead, luckily pass the inspection. just today got time to troubleshoot, finally found out the culprit (attached file). going to re-insulate related wiring tomorrow.

Ouch!

Looks like some sort of abrasion against the harness. Ya, heat and age plays a part in destroying wiring harness. A complete strip down is not necessary but cleaning up the gunk on the harness with solvent and then re-wrapping it is important.

Good luck, man.

sorry if i didnt make myself clear. my point on the picture is the wire connection by hand twisted only, that cause intermittent problem. coz i dont have portable soldering gun, have to use crimp to connect the wire. And i also found out another 2 wire on right hand connect the same way, have to re-crimp. hopefully no more other wire connect that way.

Yes, I came across such "repairs" when doing up an old bike. I have also seen rusty nuts being "treated" with silver paint!

The proper way I am told to make such a repair is to either replace the entire wire, or join it with solder, then thermal wrap it. Tedious, but reliable.

Cheers

wiring is very important, if not repair properly, you may end up paying more or losing a bike... heard an old Porsche caught fire in basement carpark of Great World city on Sunday... pity the owner...

on the point of fire.....

One of my machines in the past was leaking petrol as a bike shop that many people go to, which I will not name, replaced a rubber gasket for my fuel tank/petrol pump mounting with a piece that was cut from cardboard….

I wondered why I smelt petrol when I bought the bike and thank god my mech sorted it out for me.

No la, not that I know of anyone who did that!!!

I spoke with PITA and agreed with him that doing that will be probably the worst thing to do. Apparently it is quite impossible to disable brakes such that it only fail when the speed reaches 80 km/h like what we see in the movies :p

PITA is quite concerned about safety, actually.
