Guess just asking if we DIY steel braided brake hose on R1150GS,will it affect the ABS .. or procedures the same as any normal bike e.g Africa Twin

I d not see why it will be any different in sofar as ABS is concerned, save for the difference in "feel". Make sure that the lengths are identical to the old setup.

Cheers

routing of the hoses will have to go from the master pump to the ABS unit and from there to the calipers for the BMW as compared to the master pump straight to the calipers for the AT.

It is straight forward if your steel braided hoses are original BMW stahlflex hoses or after market item tailored to your model.

I presumed that your bike has a servo assisted ABS brakes. The challenging part is bleeding the servo unit (control circuit and wheel circuit) after you have changed the brake hoses. If you are familiar with it or done it before, it should be a breeze to DIY :thumb:

Hi, anyone have any comments on the pilot road 2 tyres??

Installed Pilot Rd2 on my 1150RT about a month ago (replacing Pilot Rd1). Better grip especially at corners. More reliable on wet weather compared to Pilot Rd1.

Can't go too wrong on these, good stuff. I think Z6 got better life, although hard to get 170 size and grip may be not as good as Pilot IMHO. Dunno about price, for Metz go get it from bike shop, cheaper than agent, strangely.

Cheers

only just maybe a thousand or two cheaper but not worth risking the 2yrs unlimited mileage warranty if buying a parallel imported bike PML does not recognise. Warranty is very important especially since BMW parts are costly..

Yup i agree.

So i presume Looi's is selling the GS800 for around $31000 otr?

Always a better feeling buying from agent rather than some other source.

Furthermore a Bmw, so the emphasis on security/reliability is there.

but i feel we shouldn't write off buying/dealing thru "some other source" all together because they provide a place where we can trade in our bikes.of course it's best if we can get someone to buy our bikes prior to getting a new one at say, pml.
