2. Perfection Motors @Kaki Bukit Autobay

3. Stamford Motors @amk Autopoint, same stretch as metal fabricator Seng Kwang

Went down to Sime Derby with cheque and all, thinking of just buying and forget about all the thinking...

in the end, there was no one in the showroom, no staff.

In the end, just went off after waiting 15minutes... business must have been too good for them.

Yup u r right kaiser, PML only have one Saleman n one sale manager that's all,only Saleman will entertain customer,manager will not.

On top of that, all the GS 1200 n GSA for the month of MAY,June,July and August all sold out, if u thought of buying GS or GSA,u got to down payment now to book for september bikes or else no chance.

Not true, the sales manager entertained me while I was there. But its true salesman is busy with all the bike bookings etc. Business have been good for them

They do have some bikes available for now and june.. like GSA in red (available now) and F800 in Trophy (June).

I was planning to check if matt metallic F800 is available for June, if not I will take the red GSA... but not fated I guess.

Think will go check out DeXing, supposedly they have the F800 in trip black.

I've never done any repairs or so from them maybe just general servicings only. So can't really comment on their prices.

But heard good reviews from people so far esp Perfection and Stamford.

M-Technik has alot of poison there so usually i try to forget bringing my card or cash if u know what i mean haha

Hi Kaiser, currently BMW Motorrad has only 1 salesman, Paul. Sometimes when I go over to la kopi with him, he is not around. At first, I also thought that business is too good, nobody at showroom, but after 1 la kopi session with Paul, he told me that he has to go to PML Alexandra(Main office) to submit documents for finance and registrations as the admin is all there. No despatch rider, so he has to do all the legwork himself.

 

Give him a call directly at 98009580 if you are still keen, I am sure he is more then willing to answer all your questions. I bought my GSA from him a few months ago, nice friendly chap(but never smile 1)

If I am not mistaken, PML still has 1 matt grey F800GS, 1 Magma Red GSA for sale. GSA this year is full spec. GS Promo is free Touratech Zega Pro Alum Side Panniers, while stocks last.

Don't buy from PI, they will not give u assurance on your bike,plus u will have a hard time to service your bike if it give you problem.

If you can wait, just wait for the colour you want, PML will bring in that particular month,and do a little downpayment and book it.

Yupz..he is a friendly chap and will even entertain sms or phone call if he's free. If you are really serious, give him a call.

Wonder if all who buys a bike has the same kind of dilemma as me.

Basically the missus have given the green light for either the GSA or F800GS.

She prefers me to get the F800GS for the price and finds GSA too huge and intimidating.

For myself, I love the looks of the GSA, but I have not ridden for a long time and probably won't go on long tour rides. So it's now between vanity and practicality.

Friends tell me F800 is a lot more practical for commuting.

 

I have taken the day off to nurse a sorethroat so probably will want to commit to a machine today.

 

My considerations :

 

PI vs PML - prefers PML

GSA vs F800 - still lost

GSA color choice - 1) triple black 2) red

F800 color choice - 1) triple black 2) Matt grey (can guys confirm that Matt grey doesn't come with the "GS" words near the tank/seat area?)

Condition - just don't want to wait too long

Yes, i had the same dilemma. And yes, the F800GS is much much much better for daily commute. And the price diff is really way to huge. I hardly log 10k per yr so dumping 50k on a bike just doesnt sound right to me...haha.

 

Actually, the 800 have really great looks too. Just kit it up properly to achieve the looks you want. Also, the fuel consumption is really fantastic.

 

However I ended up with a 1200GS 2nd hand as it fits the budget i have. Reason is when I tried both bikes, I prefer the stability of the 1200GS much over the fun of the fun of a 800GS. Also, mainly thinking of going for some touring just to satisfy an itch. But if the 2nd hand one wasnt available, I would have booked a 800GS Matt grey from PML. Personally, black color is so not my thing, so I don't quite understand why triple black is more ex...kekekeke.

Haha... Good to know I am not alone.. Was wondering why I so wishy washy this time round. I am 1.8m tall and weighs 98kg... So I meant the GSA suits my size better also other than looks.

 

Does Matt grey for F800 comes with the "GS" logo? Anyone knows?
