Good to know that you enjoyed the first ride

We should do one among ourselves in the near future :cheer:

Hek hek hek, me finest achievement till date http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif

New road up Cameron, left hook, right calf hanging onto the seat, all else hanging off the left ( me quite small size relative to the bike so everything I do on the bike quite exagerated ), left peg on the road, GPS registered speed *censored*km/h........ I like http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/eekers.gif

Is the $ tt shy the potential owner away? tot many were looking for GS.

I think the initial offer price combined with the age of the bike turned people off. But if anybody actually gone to have a look at the bike, I think they will be impressed. Its practically just ran in and with all the add ons, furthermore, the ex-owner was willing to negotiate.

Sometimes we only look at the sticker price without looking further. For some unfortunate few, getting a cheaper used bike and then having to put in extra cash to clear all the bugs......plus all the frust.....sigh :sian:

I think I will put this one as a missed opportunity for those looking for a good used GS...

500cc GP racer up/down Cameron Highland, alamak, miss the show.

And the view..... breathtaking!!!! Malaysia is a very beautiful country, many parts still unspoilt by human activities ( roads excluded, kekeke ). The best part to me was after Fraser and heading to Cameron..... out of this world man!!!!! Long bridge spanning across valleys, side roads cut into hill slope, there's even a part that reminded me of Hover Dam over in Colorado........ outstanding man!!

PL, salute to your Homeland man :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

And to the folks of BMWMC who found us the route, my sincere thanks for this most exquisite experience http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/ylsuper.gifhttp://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/ylsuper.gifhttp://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/ylsuper.gif

And to me 1200, finally got to test you for meself and you've proven to be the best bike that I have ridden, perfect for this kind of riding... I like http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/ricky.gif

Damn....it's in my own country and I've never been there! Grrrrrr!!!

If I'm not wrong, the road is new. Lots of controversial during its contructions. Some nature-loving ppl were dead against it. But now that it's been completed...I will have to plan for a trip...... Bertha will not forgive me for not doing this...

HAHAHAHA!!!

Eh, so guys do we really need a laptop for this evening? Or is it better/easier to post it on some website and then share it with everybody. Dunno whether carrying laptop on a bike is advisable or not....those vibration/shaking may cause some kind of damage...

Wow, GS1200 is definitely a must buy machine especially it is from a Racing horse's mouth or Sport Bike entheastic. Seem like BMW has once again proven and built the almighty GS to be the anticipated dual purpose bike that satisfy all.

It is indeed an excellent machine, I rode it like a sportsbike and it responded like one but more forgiving, letting me recover from a lot of mistakes. And the servo brakes are very impressive too, big big achors man :thumb: I cannot imagine what this bike can do on the road if I have BT020s on instead of Tourances..... But for dual purposes tires, the Tourance are excellent, very good side grip :D :D

From this ride, I could see that the improvement they made on the 1200 as compared to the 1100 and 1150 are not just marginal. One of the group got his 1100R throttle pinned to the max on the highest gear and I could overtake him on 5th without even getting near redline and with 6th gear to spare. The 1150GS could not escape either. And partly due to the reduced weight, the 1200 could pull a tighter line around a bend. Only when we rode on the highway, then was I thinking of me old FJR. But after having experienced those sort of roads, highways would be the last choice on my list

So far so good for me, reguarly lug one around.

Maybe we could wait a little for the compilation to be completed. They will be up on the club's website. One rider even got a videocam mounted onto his bike. I hope they could post those clips too

Wow, 5th gear to overtake R1100R, tt bike at 5th gear and max throttle should be doing at least 220km/hr on prone, uprgiht position may be 190-200km/hr.

You have not gone to redline and still hv 1 more gear to play and already waving bye bye to him, really impressive. What is yr max speed? from above and logical estimation, you should be able to reach a max speed of 230-240km/hr if maintain slightly above redline. Think tt's too fast for an off road but hei, isn't tt a idea speed to go on NSH.

Can't imagine what R1200RT can promise. May be can hit max speed of 250-260km/hr, wow, hahaha, will see PL shooting like a bullet on NSH after Nov 2006.

Yeah man. 1200RT tuned for 110BHP, faired for aerodynamic and comfort, bullet train down NSH....... look out and take cover!!!!!!!!!

They told him it couldn’t be done........So you thought a BMW R1200RT wasn’t a track bike? Ask some of the guys he passed on the circuit over the Easter weekend and they might have a different answer.
