Powered by Air - drawing atmospheric air pressure, just like the good old days, engines were powered by steam and instead of using "metal", may be replaced by high pressurised plastic or some other lightyears material yet to be discovered, no engine oil and gas needed. Should be able to reduce quite an amount of weight as lesser parts required to drive the wheels.

How bout powered by booze..... give new meaning to drunk driving

But seriously, awhile ago, there was a manufacturer that had experimented with ceramics.....wonder what happened to that one.

In the late 80s, Suzuki put 2 electronic motors on individual wheels on their Nuda (concept bike), guess that is the 1st 2wheels drive motorcycle till today. successful but never mass produce.

Yamaha with Ohlins developed a hydraulic drive for the front wheel and raced it successfully in a 450 in the 04 Dakar, winning 2 stages against the bigger Katooms. They are now being produced in limited numbers for those with the greens. The front drive only kicks in when the rear looses traction.

Yamaha WR450 2trac

Words out that they've also tried it out on a R1 and gonna go full production soon....

The plot thickens

high compression boost horsepower. both 900ss and 1100s are air cooled, cannot be as high compression as liquid cool engines like falco and tl1000s.

Yo Cyclops, am I seeing wrong or wat but I tink the headers are larger right

Not sure if they're larger but like the rest of Akra's line, they should be Ti...

But whats' interesting are:

1) Single Can, not the Gay stuff http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/ymca.gif

2) Spring retainers, you know what that mean....kekeke

3) No pre muffler, like the rest

4) Interesting crossover, not perpendicularly across like the stock ones, but curved backwards. Some extract from Corsa Performance Product site:

Automakers and performance enthusiasts have been installing balance tubes in dual exhaust systems for years. Tests have shown that balancing the backpressure between the independent exhaust branches increases power and reduces resonance

......From a pure performance standpoint, the "H"-pipe has some shortcomings. It is fairly restrictive because it is placed 90 degrees to the path of exhaust flow and any crossover gases must turn a 90-degree corner. For several years performance enthusiasts have been upgrading their dual exhaust systems with a more advanced setup with the crossover, or X-style.

But word on the net is that Akra system causes the engine to run lean and that they're trying to resolve it before putting the system on sale. The stock fuel mapping probably wasn't set up for the increase flow. A Power Commander perhaps....... product should be avail soon.....

Eh....... am I boring you? http://jkhouw.smugmug.com/photos/15999514-Ti-2.gif
