guess most of u know tt's 007, but actually what I am trying to show you guys is the inside of the gun barrel. when I was serving my NS BMT, I hv this silly tot after knowing how the M16 rifle inside barrel looks like. I began to wonder after kana many G-U by the CPL that accused me to leave elephants inside. After non stop Tekan by the CPL to clean it, I began to think, why the inside of the vehicle exhaust "barrel" doesn't look something like the M16 barrel?.

I think the purpose of this lining actually helps the bullet to spin when leaving the barrel and allow explosion/air to escape when bullet is out of the barrel. For many years, I have been thinking of the same question, I strongly believe that if the exhaust "barrel" comes with such lining, the hot exhaust will be able to escape faster in the spiral form.

When mod, most people concentrate on end can - straight thru, but what if they built the "barrel" and end can with spiral lining, will it better?

I strongly believe I am not the 1st to hv such silly tot, may be it is too costly to built it or it doesn't work at all. If any1 ever come across such exhaust, please let me know, best with Dyno chart.

Yep, non members can oso join in their usual monthly BF ride. Nothing much really.... just a half day ride on the nearby twisties for u to warm up bike, tires and balls then back to S'pore by mid noon latest.

Great for those with no time to tour. Only thing is tat they expect all riders joining the ride to be fully suit up for safety reason :thumb:

I joined them only after a couple of BF rides:smile:

Was told she travelled with a group of friends, engine dried up on the way back, ditched the bike at Malacca, later, her friend uses ST11 to tow it back and towage fee is $175/-. Singapore bike shop quoted her $3k, her bike price is only $5k and she rode it for less than 3 months.

Guess he must be pushing his bike @ 200km/hr all the way non stop to and fro Hatyai. I don't know him or I will suggest him to repair elsewhere, guess problem lies on the 6th gear only - let me KP to do an est for him :

aa) Clutch - don't hv to replace - save at least $2.2k, that bloody clutch can last you a good min. 200,000km (click, click, hv a check on the net).

bb) Gear box - replace 2 x bearings & 2 x gears plus workmanship - $1k or less.

(all he needs to repair is number 6th gear only, as 1st to 5th are for starting and stopping, usually use it for less than 10km, unless this fellow is trying to chase the Hayabusa, downshift to 2nd or 3rd at corners just to hv sufficient power to see the Busa's taillight 3km away or he didn't know there's a sixth gear, uses 4th or 5th all the way)

total est - $2k plus change engine oil, axle oil, plugs, filters and etc... (inclusive of $800 for my suggestion fee, kekeke).

You may ask, outside no warranty leh, who cares, he saves about $6k, he can use that money to repair another 2 times and balance of $2k to go KaraOK to celebrate with PRC mei mei.

Found this picture at AD, seem like this rider has a different thinkg, bike should adjust to his need, his route instead of he adjusting to the purpose of the bike.

Either spend small money regularly for preventive maintenance and enjoy the peace of a reliable ride most of the time........

or.....

tong until bike blows up or suffers a catastrophic failure and then spend BIG money.....

hmmm, dare to say, if BMW allow more authorised agent, like Yamaha to help them to sell their spares and more bike shop "dare" to repair BM bikes, I dare to say BM bikes are cheaper to maintain/repair than the Jap/Italy bike. Tech idiot like me can repair my own bike, when I was ridding Jap racing bike, I don't dare to touch it at all.

Check on the net, look at the structure / cross-section of the your own bike, you will be amaze how simple a BMW bike is.

CYCLOP, sorry, didn't date you to dismantle on the Bing Carb, backside damn itchy and decided to dismantle it over the last weekend, was quite surprise to know that it it is as simple as my other 2 carbs - 28mm Flat slide mikuni and 28mm keihing carb used on my SDR. Clean it and tune it but think there's room for improvement, I just anyhow gasak gasak on the fuel/air mixture screw, turn it to min but still encounter very strong fuel smell, I check on the plugs and seem too much fuel has been release, guess previous owner has mod the Jet needle from 42mm Bing carb, now has more power on low end, havent got the chance to try top. May be not lah, later, gearbox fried. kekekeke.

BMW Adventure special

BMW has launched a special edition version of its R1150GS Adventure, offering even more focus on enduro and long distance riding.

The bike takes the already off-road focused Adventure and adds the Integral ABS braking system, crash bars, heated grips, and white indicator lenses. It will cost you almost £800 more than the standard R1200GS but will be more than £500 cheaper than buying the Adventure and adding all the bits separately.

Only 90 of the bikes will be coming to the UK and they will all be Blue and white. And BMW will even fit knobbly tyres free of charge if you want.

The firm has also recently released its sales figures for the last year confirming what our monthly reports have already shown, that the firm is showing unprecedented sales success.

Sales of the R1200GS have pushed it up to the third biggest selling bike in the UK while the R1200RT has outsold it’s nearest rival, the Pan European, by 26 percent. In all the company’s sales are up 46 percent in the last year
