So my tp test is on wednesday, and i'll be getting a bike on the same day from a friend. so to transfer, do i need to have insurance ready or can i just transfer it under my name and then get the insurance later in the day? or a day or 2 later?

and also, will the system be updated that i have passed? cause i dont think the photocard will be issued immediately.

all information will be greatly appreciated!!! sorry if this question is very noob or has been answered a few times before.

once u pass, u can actually ride a vehicle on the road, however u need to get insurance n tax covered. it doesnt matter if u dont have the photo lic yet, cos it'll take like 1 week to process.

since u're doing a transfer, ur tax is covered, so u need to do up ur insur. once u transfered ur bike, ask ur friend to pillion u to ur agent. the agent will give u a cover note while it take 1-2 weeks to process n mail u the cert. keep the cover note n ur passing result or whatever doc driving center give u. should TP stop u, these doc will prove u're riding legally on the road.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

You can't transfer insurance from the previous owner. You have to get insurance in your own name for the bike if you're transferring the bike into your name. You will need to produce a valid insurance cover note at LTA or LTA won't process the transfer.
