how's your fuel consumpation for your vara1k???

mine's sucks at around 13-14km/l

anything to improve it's consumpation?

ive been going there for my

brake pad change, engine oil, and sproks and chain, prices are standard,

and t hey dont IGNORE and BOH chap me..

thats why i like.. and i think t hey already kind of know my bike..

 

i dont quite know which other shop to go to... the other.. sucks lah..

some act busy,, or dont want my business...

Mine's the worst compared to other Vara1000 owners that I know...

 

When I got my bike, 21 litres of petrol got me around 250km in S'pore road conditions. Now, after 3.5years, 21 litres only got me 220km...

 

But then mine is '99 model. Heard that Y2K and later model get better mileage as the carb tuning different.

 

Besides, when I go abroad, mileage is ok. I went 380 km without refuelling and the reserve light hasn't come on yet.

Hi Guys,

 

Mine is a 2002 model. I used to get about 300 km out of 21 liters, but since I had it tuned and changed fuel pump (it was giving me all sorts of problems) and air filter a few months back I get >330 km before the reserve light comes on.

 

Have not been to M'sia after my re-tuning, but I don't remeber having as dramatic increase in mileage as Lucifer when I went Pt Dickson last time (December).

juz went to msia change engine oil..brought my own engine oil and ask the mechanic there change for me..they charge RM$3..ok lah..cos they still need to dispose the oil..

 

sorry [visual] cant wait until mon cos my gear really sux already..when change gear not smooth..n sometimes go to neutral from 2nd gear..

windscreen started to crack somewhere near my number plate..juz realise it today..most probably is becos my handlebar keep hitting the windscreen..hope wont break into half..

Vara84, I think you better check or adjust your handle bar or the other parts. As for mine, it used to hit the windshield too. But after adjustment, no hitting at all. Try to ask the mechanic to adjust for you..

i have no problem when using the original windscreen last time..but now the windscreen higher den keep hitting when fully lock to the left..i tink i'll do something to prevent it from breaking into half..

which part of the handle is hitting? If it's the brake lever side, just tell the mech to lower it

i tink is somewhere there..will be heading down to nearest bikeshop tmr..den ask them how much r the charges for air filter..and how often u guys change oil filter?

vara84 good luck on the air filter please tell me the shop that u go to. i asked superbike they dont have leh. i didnt ask motoworld though. maybe mah might have? there also a shop called dirt wheels at tampinese but havent been there before.
