anyone of u guys going down to motoworld soon? maybe can ask the guys there about the quote of the accesories we asked the other day. so far they never reply to me leh.....

it seems like motoworld is not interested in making money from us. its been a week since we saw them bout these items n they have yet to make a quote from us!!

the tank bra, i really dunno how much they will give us... i was contacted by x-trail who went down to motoworld last week n he was quoted $155 which is $5 off the original price.

anyway guys we should really take a look at biketech their offer is very competetive .. the only downside is that we gotta diy all the accessories that we fit on.

i think in the future to make our mass order more successful we should :

- confirm the quantity of items we want

- survey diff shops find the best quote

- go down to the shop together to pay the downpayment

- bargain as low as possible off the orginal price.

Niti, I'll try to call them and check it out. By the way simone, I also wanted to get the air filter. But must make it which month to buy lah... maybe other accessories on hold but filter comes first. What do you think??

i'm ok with anything. I could get the air filter first n then keep it for future use so it doesnt matter cos m intending to keep me bike kinda long. anyway we should try n survey at other shop first in singapore before making an online purchase. cos i really have not made an online purchase before.

Hi Simone, you can just get the filter and ask ESB to fix it for you. I might want to get one, as ESB dun carry the filter lah... Maybe you can check with biketech whether they have or not? They have crashbar and mainstand also.. you can check with them...

hey vara bros!

ok the air filter is original honda oem filter NOT the k&n air filter. i've yet to find a compatible k&n air filter. when i serviced mine at boon siew honda it costs me 188. i was told it would last 2 oil change or 12000km. Mechanic told me that the air filter could be cleaned but only onced but it wont be as good a brand new.

point to take not i have only asked 1 shop other than bshonda bout the air filter for vara125 i.e eunos superbike which doesnt carry it. maybe u guys should ask around whether other shop bring in the air filter.

i found out that an online site sells it at

the costs w/o frieght approx 19.02 GBP = 58.3306 SGD

(1 GBP = 3.06680 SGD 1 SGD = 0.326073 GBP)

http://www.davidsilverspares.com

also. the air filter must diy... which is quite a hassle cos it involves removing the tank.

i'm not familiar with ordering items online maybe visual or niti can tell us the procedures when dealing with this shop?

To remove the oil tank have to be very careful cos still got the fairing.

Anyway there is a way to clean the stock filter by blowing air from inside out.

There is no K&N available for our bike model.

If want have to get one of the K&N filter and ask bike shop to modify for installation.

Hi Vara bros, recently I have experienced in lost of power. That day, I was running on jetting all the way.. The engine like not respond to my throttle.. finally engine cut off by itself... died lah on TPE going to SLE somemore... the slope up side. Luckily no car behind. Sent back to my agent.. keep on saying nothing wrong but charged me for $90 plus (ASP lah)..

Frustrated with no improvement after leaving the bike overnight... so brought it down to ESB... a great SHOCK to me, when the mech told me a few cable were not connected and some parts are not install properly.. Guys, I have condemned ASP liao lah...

ESB did a complete check on my poor vara... noticing it's the fan problem and last found that it's the thermo start that cause the problem, as my temp suddenly shot up very fast to 4 then 5 bar even went to 6 somemore... now no bike to use... poor thing here...

Any of you got any problem with the bike? I think it's best to let me know also, as I have learnt quite a bit from the mech lah..

I saw 6ofitall translap... got problem with the carb also... I think he felt that the power transmission is smooth like mine too.

Hi Vara Bro

This is something that all Vara riders should know if our bike is fitted with such device. I have read about some models that is fitted with this device.I think it is for safety measure to make sure that we will not exceed the speedometer limit.

By the way Haiekal at what speed will the device do powercut,do u know??

Posted

powercut is installed in almost every bike i think..

cos this device works when u exceed a certain limit..

tat's y most people who sell sportsbike on forum usually put 'no powercut', which means the bike is able to clear the meter range..

Correct me if i'm wrong..

Think before you speed, cameras are all over the place now

Posted

Power cut, dont know about htat, but *this is unrelated* i once hada few occasion where my power was cut (i was not near the power cut switch) but i was on! thus power turned off.. it happened a few time...

anyways i dont get that anymore..

about vara125 having 'destrict-ters' every mech. assumes this, bec some bikes have this to limit the speed, does vara125 have it? it would be great if it really had it... *cos then we can remove it to get more power* but im pretty sure it dosent, engine was design for 15hp..

a new problem that i woudl like to share..

my speedometer, is going crazy ... at times.

esp in the morning.. when i start the bike..*still in neutral* the speedo needle will just move all the way to the end to 140 and beyond.. and gets stuck there, then it will move beck to 0 then 140 and beyond..

even when i start riding it will just do this.. and then 1-2 minutes. later it goes to 0 and then it back to normal.. and no problem..

i notice.. that the later part of the day when i ride.. its ok..

but always happens in the morning... *sigh*

some ppl say when speedo go crazy.. coudl be 'cdi' is spoiling.. soon..

i dont know lah..

just to share

and

[simone] i didint order it was vtr125, but from what he mentiuoned.. all u need is a credit card, fgill int he form, and they send u.. no problems really..

i think NITI too ordered his undercowl from there..*if im not mistaken*

[visual]

i think the meter swinging from 0 to 140 and back to 0 is a normal problem..cos i face it sometimes also..as long as it doesn't stuck at 100km/h den i'm fine with it..

Think before you speed, cameras are all over the place now

Posted

you too huh...

its really disturbing.. cos it just happen only last sat, it seem only happen when i kick to first gear (clutch still in) and it starts going crazy..

anyways.. hope its just like that.. and dont evolove to a problem with the meter or the bike....

Posted

looks like vara muz problematic part is the meter :giddy:

Hi MH,

I had a similar problem on my Vara 1k a few months back. The engine would suddenly have no power, I turn the throttle and engine don't respond, only get weaker and dies. After a couple of minutes wait the engine will start again. If I tried to start immediately it will crank untill battery run out. Once I started it it ran fine again for over a week untill the problem came back again. Had a few mechs look at it and they all try to chop you, want to make you change all kinds off stuff without knowing the actual problem. I got especially bad experience with motoworld mechanics.

I had it down service at Sanfu and turns out the problem was the FUEL PUMP. After I changed the fuel pump my bike is funning fine. Actually I also changed the battery and generator, cos worn out. Just a heads up, maybe you want someone to have a look at your fuel pump.

Good Luck!

Now riding: Honda Varadero XL1000V2

Previous bikes: Honda SuperFour Vtec Spec I - Yamaha LC125
