Anyway about the escort thingy, so far no one has ever request for a permit to do motorcycle convoy. The authorities will usually close one eye on this things. The only thing don't breach any traffic rules, that's it.

Hi..all Vara bros,Peace...

Brothers >> Its learn to share , share to learn time.

It’s a known fact that the exhaust pipes has this corrosion or rusting phenomenon. Especially on the lower winding and intersection part. No matter how much effort done, it’ll resurface in no time. Did some research and found something interesting. Perhaps, an alternative to hi- temp respray or scrapping the rust, maybe?

Has any one come across or heard of this product before? Exhaust or Header wraps.? It’s a heat insulator,a cloth like material, comes in varieties of sizes and colour too.

Some facts :

Header and Exhaust insulating wrap not only helps to protect you from dangerous pipe burns, it also increases horsepower and fuel efficiency. Maintains hotter exhaust gases inside the pipe allowing them to exit faster due to decreased density. ( less flow restrictions improves scavenging of the cylinders). To secure the insulating wrap, use straps or clips.

Some doubts too :

Wrapping the pipe/s will increase exhaust gas velocity (maybe more power) and decrease radiant heat in the area that is wrapped but wouldn't that also redirect some of that heat to the can/s and heat up the tail-section?

The wrap would probably need periodic replacement, as road splash ( erosion ) would take its toll. Will it shortened the life of pipes ?

hhmm..tossing this idea of wrapping it in black, only at the most corroded part of pipe.btw, anyone knows our Vara pipe’s thickness and how much a spare cost?

Next change….corrosion…by high or low temperature ?…condensation, the effect of engine warm ups on exhaust pipes.

actually there someone selling the wrap in the garage. seeling for $23-$33 for 8metre. got 2 diff width. wanna get fr him 1 but no reply yet. one down thing is that the wrap is white color so ur whole exhaust gonna be white after the wrap. can check out this tread for details and pics after warp on super4.

pipe wrap

what goes around, comes around......

the wrap is a good idea as the main bulk of the rust is at the small thin exhaust pipe connecting the second back cylinder and the 2 in 1 connector. but the colour puts me off if its white. but maybe can spary on the wrap? probably wont need to wrap the whole exhaust
