IMHO if ya wanna use it to genting or heavy fog area or severe rain u should fix yellow bulbs instead of clear white for visibility....

hello brothers....i check out the bike at heng motors last week. it was the same black vara. when i asked the uncle to look at the bike. the bike was under going heavy spraying. all the ferrings was removed. and was informed by the uncle that the bike have 2 previous owner. and what's worse...the uncle qouted me $7.5k!!!! hmm, i dont know...something fishy. anyway, just sharing what i found out..

Hi Vara Folks

 

I just change my air filter and that cost me S$126 without service charge. Anyway, i change it by myself. I bought the genuine honda part from boon seiow. Does anyone know alternative third party product and how much does it cost for air filter? Will it be cheaper?

 

Another thing, My right folk need to be changed because the problem is oil leaking at the oil seal area. First time what i did was i changed the oil seal but the oil leaking problem come back after one month . This time around i thoroughly check the whole fork and what i found out was that some scratches at the oil seal area and that's root cause. So I'm sure i need to change the whole fork. I did check the price and they said it's S$300 just for one fork only. Any cheaper sources? I just need only right fork. Good second hand will be fine.

Air filter $126...maybe i getting one soon...

an alternative way is to go to GHC Yishun at about $50+/- ... Niti and pro_dero using them rite now....can ask feedback on it from them...

A lot of us service our bike at different2 places.... yishun...paya lebar...ubi....

Don't be surprise most of the original parts are very ex...

Hey there kokojee....regarding the oil seal thing....my suggestion is, if there's still some RUST FLAKES at your fork..then use a real fine sand paper..just lightly sand it offf..or u can use a LIME...as in real LIME...to get the rust off...

 

Next step after u get rid of the rust..then go to a bicycle shop..buy lizard skin fork guard...its a velcro type of cloth...replace the oil seal..then put the lizard skin as a form of method to prevent rust(put it over the oil seal.)...and also prevent sand from entering the oil seal area...i did the same for mine since the day i bought my bike...so far so good lah...at least that area does not RUST...

F.O.R >> bro, please refer to the XL 125 V Owner's Manual on page 54 to 55 under Maintenance Schedule. Best tips... when its due,try to be observant on the bike's performance before and after each servicing done.

Bro, for your fairing, you may also want to try any of the Bt Merah car workshop, i strongly believe they do, just like cars, they do som plastering work to smoothen the surface, then either u wan to respray that portion only, or the whole fairing. Price i think is bet $150 - $200 MAX But go consult shop by shop to get the lowest price as the shops there all fighting for business.

Btw this is roughy the service interval for me, just for reference

1) Spark plug : non-iradium - 5k km , iradium - 8 to 10k km (though they claim it's 100k km, but i dun't dare to take the risk)

2) Air filter : original - 20k km, K&N mod - 15k km (wash)

3) Oil Filter : every 10k km (most bikes have both air & oil filter)

4) Engine oil: mineral & semi syn - 5k km, fully syn - 10k km

Bro, i suggest u consult an 3rd or 4th opinion also from other shops, before commiting the repairs. Worst to worst, also no need to buy OEM fork, i think scrambler type also can fit. Ours is triple clamp ones i think.

yo dude use NGK VX platinium better for ya vara125 10000km den oil change every 5000km, oil filter every 2 oil change den u do or 10000km, air filter & coolant aft 45000km, so far this is wat i done to me bike oredi 53000km wah lau....hahhaha!

 

btw abt k & n air filter is mod not stock for v125 bike den u gotta use its chemical wash rather den water & blow dry like OEM or sponge air filter...
