Every mech has his good and bad points thus u go diff shops to do different things.

Ah Wah is skillful, if u look at him how he handles your bike esp when he strips the the carb the brake callipers he's work is very good. He doesnt force screws in or bangs and nuts and bolts. I've done my carb servicing at SANFU and i didn't quite like as compared to ah wah.

I had a bad experience at SANFU when the was trying to take out the screws from the carb he was banging the screwdriver agaist the carb. Also when the mech took out the carb he also took out the coolant hose and all the coolant from the radiator were drained. I didn't realise it until i check my reserve and found out that it was dry.

I've seen how ah wah changes sprockets and chain. He will clean your front sprocket cover and your rear wheel with degreaser and hose it down with water so before installing anything he ensures that all this areas are clean. It only goes to show to amount of pride he takes in his work.

However, ah wah needs to update his parts lists such as engine oil and spark plugs sprockets brake pads.

His service level is very high but sometimes getting parts from him can be quite a hassle.

Another shop i patronise is Racing Incorp. Every 3 months or so i do engine oil replacement, plugs and filter there and get a free tuning of the carb. Paul is also very knowledgeable of the bike as he owns one before and during the period of ownership he keeps tweaking his own varadero. So if u wanna get the most of ya varadero go to him.

However, some of his services are quite expensive like carb servicing. But for engine oil plugs and filter its very reasonablebly priced.

I also patronise Hua Chin at Bukit Batok there i do quick fix ups cos its the nearest to my house like bulbs and spare plugs.

But the level of service there is quite horrible.

Last for DIY stuff esp engine oils and oil filter grease and the such i patronise small MAH. He encourages u to diy he even lends u tools and oil pan so that u can dispose of the oil properly.

However the mech over there does a horrible work and has got mood swings so i never let them touch me bike.

Whats Up DaWgZ!!

prodero>>>

1. juz for your info...Zul did not mention to me about wedding escort....he only inform me that he want to invite OUTRIDERS...i rather hear it from Zul himself....not you....and if you are so excited about the wedding escort...you organize lah....why you ask me to?....the last time i checked with you about Werxguy wedding....I believe i asked your help to organize the wedding escort as i got something on....but what you tell me on the phone...you dun want to organize...you trying to spoil someone's big day is it?....let me tell you....for Werxguy wedding...I liase a lot with elws on the day itself....Niti brought the walkie talkie...where were you?....and yet you got the cheek to tell people...you organize for VARA and OUTRIDERS...i even do the recce myself....

2. about all this patronizing....i believe if you go back and check the forum....i didnt go around blabbering about the shops i patronize.....you want to mention about Boon Siew....I only go there 3 times since i bought my bike....only once i did my servicing there....other than that...i juz do my own surveying....get your facts right...about Ah Wah...i have no complaints....he is a skilled mechanic with vast experience...no doubt about it....you dun see people here...blabbering about the shops that they patronizing....Did you see Simone blabbering about the shops he patronize in the forum?....now is courtesy of Botax....Botax here....Botax there....

3. You want to blame me if people dun go to your meet up?...you want to blame me that VARA cannot come to your organized meet up too?....have my way when organizing meet up?.....why you cancel your meet up?...you said you organize for all bikers....it doesnt have to come from OUTRIDERS and VARA right?...come on lah....the previous meet up you never come down....you dun know anything....another thing...when i organize meet ups....i dun expect full attendance...coz people got other commitments....for your info...Me and Dakar are the people who will be organizing meet ups and trips for now till end of the year....did you know?....coz you are on the dark side...but hey...i can pass you the baton....why not you and Dakar be the organizer for now till end of the year....i back out....you dun worry about Michael and Taufiq...i already 2 steps ahead of you....

4. How many times did some of our brothers down here...personally call you up and tell you to think before you open your mouth or advice you?...You dun listen....People tell you nicely in the face some more....dun want to listen....you want people to shout at you is it?...not only us...even the VARA...hinting at you....still dun get it....

5. BOFF?....what does it mean?...trying to scold me is it?....

I believe i also speak up for some of the brothers here....who shared the same views as me....

To other brothers....i have no intention of hurting your feelings or making this forum an ugly scene or making this forum like a Malay Soap Opera....I juz cant take it.......Lastly...i seek your pardon for my words that i used here...

I rest my case!

Hi...all Vara bros,Peace...

Brothers >> ever got that numbness feeling especially on your right hand after squeezing the throttle for too long?... got a gadget worth look into.....am not promoting but do read on ....

Throttle Rocker - what is it?

it's a device that wraps around the throttle grip of your motorcycle. The end protrudes out from the grip to form a contoured portion that comfortably fits the heel and palm of your hand. Using the heel of your hand, you apply downward pressure on the Throttle Rocker and the throttle grip rotates. Throttle Rocker is contoured to comfortably fit the palm and heel of your hand so that those long rides are more enjoyable. Can be used with the Universal Cruise Control.

http://209.15.36.61/swcart/shop/TR-photo.jpg

So what's the big deal?

With it you don't have to squeeze the grip to operate the throttle. This means less fatigue and cramping of your hand, because a "death grip" is no longer required to hold throttle speed.

With a Throttle Rocker the grip won't have a tendency to slip because your fingers are getting tired and you won't have to constantly reposition your hand to maintain speed.

· You can operate the throttle with a relaxed hand.

· It greatly reduces hand fatigue and cramping.

· It comfortably fits the heel and palm of your hand.

· It's easier to operate the throttle, especially while wearing heavy gloves.

· Eliminates throttle "creep" due to hand fatigue.

· It is not a throttle lock.

How it works

The tension of the material, along with downward pressure from the heel of your hand causes the Throttle Rocker to maintain a tight hold on the throttle grip. The downward pressure from the heel of your hand causes the throttle grip to rotate.

But I have cruise control

Cruise control is great when you are on the open highway with nothing but open road spreading out ahead of you, but what about riding with a group, between stoplights or on that winding country road? Face it, a large portion of your riding you can't use it. If you have cruise control, adding a Throttle Rocker gives you "full coverage" with the best of both worlds.

If you have cruise control, great, but when you can't use it you'll be glad you have a Throttle Rocker.

Design

Throttle Rocker is contoured to comfortably fit the palm and heel of your hand so that those long rides are more enjoyable.

Construction

· Injection molded out of a tough, Hi-Tec polymer to withstand tough use.

· Fits most grips. Some very small stock grips may be a little too small and billet grips are too smooth to grip.comes in any color you want. (As long as you want black)

niti brader.. join the club man.. my wife .. totally not into the whole going to malaysia, touring thing too... im just plain lucky.. sometimes she dont mind being the pillian....

im hoping that the next meet up... Nazrin & shah (gfs) can talk and phsyco her abit lah.. *heheh*

but i suppose marriage is a give and take.. u give .. maybe she will give some back to you...*hopefullY for you and me,,,,*

so u finished your course 'rumah tangga'?

prodero a suggestion... setup a blog.. or like what daniyal did.. get this 'http://multiply.com/' account..so u can upload your pic and experience there...

so when u got new stuff, just one post is needed to annpounce your discoveries, or upgrades... and if a person is interested, can simply click on your link.. to see it..

cos when u post here.. and it take up like 5-8 post.. it makes it abit hard to read the forum.. since forum is a public space.. i think its just more 'orderly' to do it that way...

this after all is a suggestion.. i think its pretty similar to what dakar suggested that you have your own blog... so ppl can see the stuff u do... if a [person chooses to view it...

actually if you did that earlier .. your page would have all this content.. nicely consolidated... and not liek now.. scattered everywhere with in 194 pages in the forum...

another suggestion is for you to add.. useful info to your blog/website, even addresses of good workshops.. and rating and pricelist of the parts...

that would actually be damm useful for us as a reference and new biker..

its nice of u to shaRE ya prob u hv here if u got da pix den we all can benefit it all, no 1 is perfect so r mech they are all human.....hehehe! lets learn it 2gether...

btw ya cone bearing eat up ya frame or not? den it will affect ya handlin to da fork too...

For my fork case taking a pic won't help cos the rust spot is non visible but u can feel it if u really try to...

The cone bearing I had it changed before and the leak is on one side only Which I believe is due to the rust spot. So guys do make sure ur keep the fork clean.

Other than that now I got to change handlebar, balancers and a pair of mirrors. Stupid accident this morning.

I'm not injured cos maintain my balance despite the accident. I refuse to take the plunge. Shouldn't have rode to work this morning when I wake up feeling dizzy. Now get to buy new stuffs again... Hahaha.

werxguy: That new bike I saw it in my station, FZXXXXG. New and no rear license plate number. I think it could belong to someone in my station.

Visual -->> Dun scare me leh... like after marriage got no time to enjoy like that. Actually dats one of my biggest fear, after getting married not being able to stay close with u guys. Summore my fiancee is 50-50 bout bikes n touring stuffs. But i guess this part can learn from those bros who are married. Maybe Aikon can spare me some pointers or doa2 ke buat pelembut hati, hehehheh....

Niti >> bro...want some pointers?...sure can, me got 14 volume of books on survival techniques...seriously, its a great balancing act.need to know your priorities and most importantly..be fair to yourself and the one you cherish...stay calm bro.if the going gets tough, the tough gets going....so lets ride by my side brother and let those fresh air blast our hot headed heads to sense.

Abattorry >> sire, am trying to get a pool of at least five interested buyers first. will keep you inform...nothing concrete yet.if not as usual, chop chop will get it done the DIY way lorr.
