Bout the air filter thing, I've seen ah wah open up the tanks and unscrew the filters before. I guess there shouldn't be a problem if we DIY coz it seems pretty easy...

i think since pingster & niti have seen how easy it is to install it, and i also talk to some biker (during my RT) they al seem to say its an easy procedure, im pretty confident we can do it ourself... hopefully all is good...

 

also was told by one biker 'riding a r1' he told me his old bike, he used to just go buy a K&N air filter that size resemble's his current air filter, then cur the K&N air filter and put it over the old one (gluing to the outer plastic frame using high temperature resistance sillicon glue) and it works...

 

i dont know how good if an idea that it.. but just to share.... but pretty excited to get the air filter...

 

About Poor vara125 bike performance

Also just FYI, my bike... had this problem.. for about 2-3 weeks..

 

1. trip meter screwed up - (even when im not moving the trip meter can run whe i trottle) and it runs so fast that altho i just travelled 10 km it registered as 100km.. and this has messed up my total distance meter..

 

2. my clock always restet sometiems 3 times a day

 

3. speedo meter gone haywire.. *this since well almost 1 year already.. that i now only see the rpm*

 

4. bike under power.. till a point i cant even hit 10rpm, when i do i feel the loss power-ness *much like whne ur bike is running out of petrol*..

 

anyways.. during that time.. i thought my bike is messed up.. i really feel like selling it off, take 2A and buying a S4..

 

then i wanted to try to change battery went to bike shop in clementi waited for 3 days and they were not able to find a battery for the bike!! *sian!!!*

 

so anyways today i went to 'MAH Motor Parts'

 

1. changed the battery*so nice that the have the stock for it!* Price - $65

2. Changed sparkplug *used the Original NGK* the once mentined in the bike manual and at MAH motor parts their NGK is the 'made in japan, honda orginal parts* type, and its cost me $8! (good price)

3. change engine oil - castrol - $10 per liter x 2 = $20

4. change oil filter - $8

 

after all that.

 

1. my trip meter, clock, and EVEN SPEEDOMETER so far is steady! *but icant confirm... 1 week later if it stil 'steady' then i can safely confirm that old battery was the cause of the problem

2. bike power is back... *can hit 120km/h.... on good roads with pillian! *that more then i can ask for....*

3. bike feels and sounds more smooth...

 

Cant wait for the air filter.. that will complete the 'circle'

Not for all cases I believe...

The best is to test first with another batt before buying a new batt.

Always use a trusted brand.
