daystar after u put the anti - rust spary did it flake off cos its not meant to be put at areas where it is prone to high heat like our exhaust. Its ok if u just want to use it to derust ur exhaust but the paint will come out eventually due to the high heat.

So far no complaints. Only know when I collect back today evening for weekend usage.

you meant that it will flake off at high temp? Tat is Y u painted the exhaust. I could not bear to do it myself to remove, though I'm also mechanically trained.

Anyway, will see the after effects over the weekend.

Thanks to LTC (TONY) for treating us drink n finishing up his bottle of engine oil.. went servicing at SANFU today. Got a bottle of DELPI OIL rated 5w - 50w fully syn @ $18 the rest 0.3ml tony top up from us.

the mech syn my engine cos i did carb servicing from him. but he told me a problem which still persisted which is my poor acceleration from 1.5 -- 3k rpms still cant the problem but he told me to leave the bike there so he can inspect it but i rather not cos of insuffienct funds on my side.

:thumb:

No problem. Just can't believe they charge 2 dollars more per bottle. Try to join ur next time. My next servicing I'll schedule between 30000km to 32000km. During the servicing yesterday I found that the engine oil very black so dun think should wait till 10000km or 12000km. Will spoil the gears.

10,000km is really too much 5000km is a safer bet. but even when i change to fully syn i change it every 3000-4000km.

Since my bike is already two years old i dont want more grit n carbon to build it up in my engine. Furthermore it depends on how u ride ur back if u contanstly ride with high rpms 8k-11k a more frequent oil change is recommended

luckily for us its only 1.3l super four is 3-4 bottles! So change ur engine oil frequently as long as your wallet allows it.

btw ltc did the oil we change fully syn or semi syn.... it seems semi syn leh. Issit Premium?

by the way ..simone..after you fix the exhaust pipe first portion that comes out from the engine block....is there any leakage or any feeling of air coming out from the exhaust manifolds..??is there any GASKET at the engine block exhaust outlet?

Cause i know that most bikes have dat gasket huh..even my WR200 has it..i beleive so SUPER 4 has the gasket too right Suhaimi..??if Vara got no exhaust gasket then..emmm..weird but goo lah..hehehe easy huh...

irritating sound rite...if like XR400..then nicer..

design a sticker lehhh..small one will do lah.. then can paste on the fering near the fuel switch...not so big lah just a small one will do...

Hey Simone, sorry for the last minute cancellation on my part... it was really sumthing out of the blue, I cant help me... Sorry to hear too that it was cancelled due to the response...

Anyways, great job on yr exhaust huh... So much effort I suppose... Ok for u guys who wanna get rid of the rust but too lazy, or not enuff time, or not too mechanically inclined...I can recommend getting the exhaust done at Sanfu... I did mine before I sold the bike... they charged $30 for it...The guy told me the paint still intact... but of course if u wanna DIY, can save some money...get Simone to help maybe less than $10, pay for his makan or whateva he wanted...haha

Hope to see you guys again on the road....Ok till then...

refering to the pic there is no gastket connection just connected by screws. Before connection back the muffler item number 2 we installed the rest and switched it on there was no air escaping we took it around for a ride in the carpark.

however the muffler piece (no2) when we took it out there a silvery thing like an aluminum foil. However the muffler can be connected back tightly with piece (no 8.) there was no leakeage of air.

all in all it was five pieces not four.. eheh.

when u take out the muffler its sounds really nice n its not trebly but really bassy better then the xr4 because of the v-twin configuration... there's actually 3 different exhaust notes when it idles... i recorded the sound but will convert it to mp3 for u guys to hear.

here the pics for reference:

putting the layer of anti rust spray will defeat the purpose of painting luckily u didnt put a coat of high temp spray after u sprayed the anti rust.

The anti rust layer will peel resulting in high temp paint to flake off too. Then u will be back to square one the exhaust will rust again. Best remove most of the rust with the sandpaper. It will also prepare the exhaust for a better surface for the high temp spray to be sprayed on.
