Those black things on the fairing which ProDero Posted in the vara125exhibit pic are wind deflectors. the wind deflectors are attached to the front head fairings. besides they cost a bomb for such a small piece of plastic. Daystar was interested in buying them until he almost fainted when he heard how much they cost. :D

Niti- Ur bike air filter still original? U can go to ur bike service shop and clean ur air filter by air spray. Then also get ur carbs washed. After that make sure the mech tune ur carbs else ur bike engine will not be smooth. Anyway to change our air filter to original air filter, it costs about $150/- original honda parts for our bike. I found an alternative that is to change to K&N air filter. The K&N air filter however requires some modifications as the company does not manufacture for our bike. The cost will be around $80/- for mod and installation. I will be getting it done in december where I have extra cash on hand.

I did it at Sanfu. December I'm going back to them to install the mod K&N air filter. Perhaps a full service also.

guys i found an interesting post.. this topic has long been in my head...

sppedometer

the question is.. how accurate is vara125 speedometer??>..

hope one day can try with a car.. and test if my 90 is same as a car 90km/h

cos in the post.. the fazer is at 90 but phantom shows 110km/h

phantoms rider says their max is 130km/h

but if their 110 = 90

then the 130 = 110++

means same as vara125... (provided that vara125) speedometer is accurate..

i have a feeling that vara125 speedo is accurate... as

parts for vara125.. is not cheap...

anyways...

how to confirm this... huh..

last time vara84... had a digital speedo imstalled on his bike.. and that prooved to be accurate to the bike top speed..

hmmmmm.....

Posted

i agree.......

like my frenz super4 & kips

when super4 is @ 100km/h, the kips is @ 120km/h

but dunno how accurate are our speedo....

mayb 1 of u can put on a digital speedo n test it out :cheeky:

what goes around, comes around......

Did someone mention KUALA LUMPUR????

eheheh...looking forward for this trip..I agree with dakar...we should meet up early and planned early...communicating thru this forum will slow us down...

I believe dakar have heard wat i said about the KL trip...so guyz let get our heads together and plan for the trip...

about the superion thingy...i think i will make a pass for now...coz i bought fuel max 2 years ago but cannot be fixed onto my dad's car coz need 8 of them...so i try fuel max n u guyz try superion...and then we compare which is better...how about that...our little experiment..

I am going down to GHC tomorrow to check out the workshop..based on Tijan experience, it seems the GHC is providing good service...so i wanna to check it out..niti dun forget tomorrow 11am at khatib mrt...

To simone...so sorry i cannot join u guyz for the outing juz now...got to help my family out...hopr u guyz understand...

About the speedo...smaller bike speedo is not as accurate as bigger bikes...coz base on my experience catching people speeding...smaller bike tend to haf abt 10km/h extra in speed...which means if my 750 going at 100km/h..125 will go at 110km/h..for my bike, i test with my fren XR4 who install digital speedo...i go additional 5km/h..XR4 at 90km/h, my vara go at 95km/h...

Thats all folks!

thaats why u need box lah... bro, put ur rain coats... and boot cover.. so when rain, we still be dry but only gloves will be wet..

;)

i think the usua;l practise, when rain is to go to the nearest rest area and wait...rain will end in 1-2 hrs.. unless its those 'seasona' rain that last 1-2 days then.. well part of the adventure..

i guess if you wear rain coat, u wont be dreenched.. u wont feel too cold.. wont get sick..

riding in the heaviest rain.. think i have experienced htat...

from so heavvy untill cant see the vehicle infront.. so so heavy that i wear rain coat also the rain can go in and wet my shirt!

but no matter how heavy.. it aint too bad with a goo dpair of raincoat and boot cover..

;)

catching ppl speeding? dont tell me your working at... .....

so vara is just +5KM out.. which i htink is ok lah..

given the fact t hat other bikes like phantom is +20km

so next time a phantom claims that his phantom can go 140

its actually

140 - 20 = 120

;)

ok.. now it makes sense lah

ehh Simon... go and test ur phantom lah..

Talked to those present last night about going to install the K&N air filter.

I will most likely be going after the 12th of December. Next working day will be Monday and that's the 13th of December. Like to find out who is interested to go for the transplant for Honda stock air filter to K&N air filter for their Varadero.

1) ** 3 DECEMBER -------- 5 DECEMBER

i also preferred that day mentioned aboved..as its the beginning of the December month..the weather should not be that bad compared to the days approaching Christmas...snowing huh....:cheeky:

Maybe we can have the discussion during the collection of the Crashbar or we can have the discussion after 14 november.....

Regarding the speedo accuracy...i tested my bike before at 2nd link...with Super4, TZM, KIPS, KTM400exe...guess what

Super4 ----100km/h

Vara125--------105km/h

TZM-------------120km/h

KipS-------------120km/h

KTM400---------120km/h (throttle finish..my friend uses bigger sprockets for offroad )

When i travel with my friends few months ago...Super4 and Phantom200

Super4---------100km/h

Vara125-------105km/h

Phantom-------120km/h

and the phantom rider says that his bike is shaking..emmmm(no offence to all the phantom riders huh..)

to get the speedo reading it has something to do with the wheel diameter..engine revolution(rpm)..(if i 'm not wrong lah..learn some yrs ago in SBS..)

Tijan..regarding the WET weather u mentioning...eemmmm Visual is rite..we will stop at the REST AREA if the RAIN is VERY HEAVY..(as a measure of SAFETY)..if any one have WET BOOTS...(slip on type sold at most bike accessories shop) u are advised to bring it...

But guys...in this trip..there is no HURRY to reach our destination..we take it slow and easy...we are not RACING BIKEs....we are all cruiser...normally most guys like Super4..will reach about 4hrs or even less depends on the riders speed and his fitness also....if we can make it around 5-6hrs..with stopover for makan & toilet break...i think it should'nt be any problem...

We discuss all this Break Time and the Speed.....when we have the meeting ya..

If we can get some advise from Varastromer also good lah..he've been there B4

dANIYAL...do you have some suggestion on the ACCOMODATION and SECURITY (for us and the bike)..

2nd link----KL------420km...(approx)
