THe vara 125 speedo is 1 of the most accurate around. I tried pacing my fren's 125. My speedo shows 110 km/h and his too. Guess 2 cant be wrong hehehe

Anyway V1K don't takes its speed front the wheel but the crankcase.

1) ** 3 DECEMBER -------- 5 DECEMBER

i also preferred that day mentioned aboved..as its the beginning of the December month..the weather should not be that bad compared to the days approaching Christmas...snowing huh....:cheeky:

Maybe we can have the discussion during the collection of the Crashbar or we can have the discussion after 14 november.....

Regarding the speedo accuracy...i tested my bike before at 2nd link...with Super4, TZM, KIPS, KTM400exe...guess what

Super4      ----100km/h

Vara125--------105km/h

TZM-------------120km/h

KipS-------------120km/h

KTM400---------120km/h (throttle finish..my friend uses bigger sprockets for offroad )

When i travel with my friends few months ago...Super4 and Phantom200

Super4---------100km/h

Vara125-------105km/h

Phantom-------120km/h

and the phantom rider says that his bike is shaking..emmmm(no offence to all the phantom riders huh..)

to get the speedo reading it has something to do with the wheel diameter..engine revolution(rpm)..(if i 'm not wrong lah..learn some yrs ago in SBS..)

Tijan..regarding the WET weather u mentioning...eemmmm Visual is rite..we will stop at the REST AREA if the RAIN is VERY HEAVY..(as a measure of SAFETY)..if any one have WET BOOTS...(slip on type sold at most bike accessories shop) u are advised to bring it...

But guys...in this trip..there is no HURRY to reach our destination..we take it slow and easy...we are not RACING BIKEs....we are all cruiser...normally most guys like Super4..will reach about 4hrs or even less depends on the riders speed and his fitness also....if we can make it around 5-6hrs..with stopover for makan & toilet break...i think it should'nt be any problem...

We discuss all this Break Time and the Speed.....when we have the meeting ya..

If we can get some advise from Varastromer also good lah..he've been there B4

dANIYAL...do you have some suggestion on the ACCOMODATION and SECURITY (for us and the bike)..

2nd link----KL------420km...(approx)

(WHAT EVER YOU DO.....SAFETY FIRST)

3-5 December is fine with me...coz from 6 dec onwards i haf to go back camp and do my clearance..

I agree with Dakar..for the KL trip, we are in no hurry to reach KL..the main thing here is to ride safely, reach KL safely and come back to S'PORE safely..

About the hotel reservations and our bike security..i will try to get it done by next Fri..do remind me about my dead line..i try to get more infomation on the hotels rates, vacancy, bike parking, locations, etc...

BTW, juz now..i went to this scrambler shop along joo chiat road with niti and al simmons..we found this disc lock with alarm system..cost around $75..interesting..i mean to me..i find it interesting..juz wanna share with u guyz..

but guess what..

less then 1 min.. the lock part was SAWED OFF!!

guess maybe its a damm lousy disc lock..

after dat.. i got bad vibes with disc lock..

and disc lock,. problem is.. u will always forget to unlock.. and when u reverse the bike really fast.. the disc lock.. with hit.. ur fork.. really hard... might damage it.. if happens to many time..

heard stories of powerful sports bike.. whos disc brakes gets messed up.. bec forget to unlock disc lock..

the real issue is.. can this meter be easily installed to replace the current one?

if it can then.... quite cool lah.. but then .. how about... milage? and trip and total distance travelled meter? does it have all that?

Hmm, for the installation of the speedometer, I think is very possible, just need to get the correct brackets and screws, and though i never asked the guy to do a demo on the meter, I believe in that meter it has the necessary gauges as i can see a few smaller LCD screen in it, pretty though.

But too bad, for me, I can't really apply leave during the December holidays, so have to watch you guys go ahead :weep:

But nevertheless, before you guys go for the trip, I suggest you guys can get the "worm tyre patcher" from mustafa, and either a air canister or a heavy duty air pump, with that, no one needs to be afraid of puncture tyre!!! :cheer: :cheer:

There are high end disc locks. They are made of hardened steel compounds or even alloy... Those with alarms detects vibration and it will trigger off when the vibration is over it's threshold.

The one that u got from Ah Boy is most likely some low end imitation. That's why it so easy to cut.

it been 1 mth since i took over fr vara84.

all i can said this bike really comfortable and 'eye-catching'

there isnt much problems since i had already change the sprokets, brakes, chain and tyres.

things i planned to change few mths fr now are clutch and air filter.

some other things wld like to try:

- fog light

- change head like to white 1 but dun think have

- change speedo backlight to white also

actually i have 1 worry........

is the speedo...

but until now, its still works fine, especially after few days of rains. hopefully it will remain as it is :cheeky:

wld really like to take out simone speedo, wanna try to 'fix' it. :cheeky:

if it works, den there nothing wrong wif our speedo, juz some connections loose but if not, den i dunno liao :sian:

as for the KL trip, cant really plan 2 mths ahead.....

juz some personal feeling of my Vara, our Vara :thumb:

Firstly, to Niti and Pro Dero, nice meeting you guys. Like to meet the rest of vara riders. If will be nice for us to ride in convoy. It will certainly catch people's attention. :thumb:

I've installed handguards (the full one that goes around the grip) to my bike. Cost $100 and i still can handlelock my bike. Don't know if anyone knows anyplace that can get cheaper. Will post the pics once i got them.

About the KL trip, :bouncefire: i might be joining as it seems quite interesting. But need to confirm the date earlier as i need to take leave in advance as it is the december period. Anyway if it's over the weekends than it shouldn't be much problems. Furthermore, need to save up $$$ and get my bike ready for the adventure, servicing and all. We really need good planning for this.

Tomorrow's Meet up - Will not be able to join u guys. However, i have pass the money to daniyal for the shirt and decal.

guys i found an interesting post.. this topic has long been in my head...

sppedometer

the question is.. how accurate is vara125 speedometer??>..

hope one day can try with a car.. and test if my 90 is same as a car 90km/h

cos in the post.. the fazer is at 90 but phantom shows 110km/h

phantoms rider says their max is 130km/h

but if their 110 = 90

then the 130 = 110++

means same as vara125... (provided that vara125) speedometer is accurate..

i have a feeling that vara125 speedo is accurate... as

parts for vara125.. is not cheap...

anyways...

how to confirm this... huh..

last time vara84... had a digital speedo imstalled on his bike.. and that prooved to be accurate to the bike top speed..

hmmmmm.....

visual,

tested our varadero with Hyundai Matrix. It aligned to the car speedometer, plus minus less than 5km/hr. :bouncefire:

I also, tried with Lancer, Civic, Accord and many others along AYE (Ayer Rajah Stretch) near the speed camera tailing the car at the outer lane.....Hahahaha, my speedo also halted 90km/hr at most time.....:bounce: :bounce:

So I believe our speedo are quite accurate......:thumb: :thumb:
