i would be interested in the undercowl thing...

count me in...

thanks

if can fabricate exactly the same... and is less then $100, hmm i too woudl be interested... as my one (well after 2 years.. and some hard hits from kerbs, and after inserting metal wiring to secure it and after wear and tear.. its slowly cracking up.... )

altho if you can fabricate the undercowl.. u also need ppl to fabricate the body kit parts.. quite a few of them.. but i think body kit would be the easy part.. the Hard part is the plastic..

Hi all

Noticed that most of your bikes have Black wheel rims, except for one in Silver.

I also see a Silver one in this picture below. Seen the bike in GHC but cannot remember the color of the rims. Can we choose the color when buying one ?

The new one is in matt silver rim

if your gonna talk about 'scorpian' let me tell u about 'Tourance' in case u do not know..

;)

Metzeler (Tourance)

WriteUp:

Innovative tyre for touring-Enduro bikes now several tyre sizes available in a V-marked version (up to 240 km/h); up-to-date 0 °-steel-belted tyre with radial carcass.

Innovative touring Enduro (Dual Purpose)tyre mainly for street oriented big touring-Enduro bikes with steel-belted construction.

Elevated riding comfort from a modified carcass structure and hinge zones in the shoulder area due to the ingenious tread-block pattern in the centre: good offroad traction reduced rolling resistance and less rolling noise; high mileage capacity from improved tread depth distribution over the tyre contour plus enormous grip on wet and dry road surfaces.

Smooth, vibration free running due to the ‘fish bone' pattern o the tread blocks; better straight line stability from improved carcass structures; light and precise handling in all riding situations due to linear shaped tyre radius; plenty of grip at all angles, especially when you need it; high mileage capacity for extended holiday rides and offering traction even if it includes some dirt, rocks and rock 'n roll...

Hello everyone!!!

Long time didnt log in here liao, quite busy last 2 weeks :giddy:

today juz change my headlight to halogen bulb, the 1 pro dero mentioned, something phoenix. very bright but got 1 big problem.... :giddy:

when i go high beam, the fuse blown.....

keep trial n errors.... end up wif 4 blown fuses.. wonder wat the problem

what goes around, comes around......

FUSE blow! wooh.. thanks god i didint get the phoenix bulb yet... as i got no more spare fuse available..

i suspect.. when hi beam.. it uses a different filement.... and maybe that filement uses a diff voltave... too high.. that it over drain? but that do not make sense actually..

unless a high beam.. cause a short.. then thats wh it might blow...

anyways.. pingster how much did u pay for it?

u keen to buy the 'other bulb' that abattory recommends? cos i need to..

and about ther 'instrument panel' u mentioned.. ur able to open it?

i after unscrewing the nuts.. failed to pull it out..

wanted to... but scared i might break it... so i decided .. better not..

;)

i do wonder how u managed to open yours...

anyways.. i bet urs and mine are the same lah.. during the raininy days.. (speedo needle.. go haywire) *right*?

Posted

pingsters if ya fuse got blow due to high beam its because ya bought the wrong halogan voltage or something wrong with ya onboard electric setting boy.....i hv hv been using phoenix 12v rain or shine nvr fail me more over i fix up myself.....hehe.....!

visual abt tourance tires i oredi know abt, its juz a cheaper alternative to pirelli italia, btw 2 years is too long for a tire change boy...

visual: (Im Now at the point of deciding that tyre to get fo rmy bike, been almost 2 years since i ve been using the stock tyres (bridgestone) so its time to change as they are 'slowly' balding and when it rains, i really freak out.. as a sudden quick squeeze of the brakes will most probably leave me slushing and skidding on the road).

hope ya dun hv to wait till ya fall till ya know its time to change ya tires...haha! btw did metzeler sponsored ya tires for ya enormous WRITE UP support.....haha!

dakar word of advice dun waste ya time getting stuff at boon siew its expensive n they are more interested in doing business with dealers rather walk in customer, the thick clutch cable $15 i got it at GHC Yishun, tell ah wah ya my fren den juz ride into his workshop cuz he know i got alot of enduro bike frens in sg.....cheers mate!

my halogen phoenix bulbs bought @ lab, same as wat pro dero has bought

12v 35/35w so shd not be a problem... when i 1st changed the left bulb and try the high beam, its doing fine, can high beam. but after i have changed the right bulb and try high beam, the fuse blow..... now also no spare fuse liao..... later gonna get some and do trial n errors again....

try to solve the problem if really cant mayb will get the new bulb or the most dun high beam loh..... :cheeky:

bought @ $10/per pair

as for the instrument panel, after u screwed out the 2 nuts, u have to pull out the whole thing. i know @ first its quite scarry to do so coz dunno will break anything a not but its juz a stopper that holds onto it. juz like the fairing on the battery n fuse box. after tt there's a wiring tt connect to the gadget, u have to pull tt 1 out fr the gadget, tt will reset ur trip meter but not total milage.

btw last time i manage to take out the front fairings, actually looks quite good w/o fairing, like super4. but sad to said, didnt really manage to trace the problem but when i trace the wiring to the fuel tank area, there a connection there. when i dismantle, it stops the swinging but once i put it back, it swings...... but dun really know wat the problem.....

pro dero,

how much is the servicing @ ghc?

any recommendation of engine oil and spark plug?

what goes around, comes around......

yo pingster juz sms me at 90223375 den i can help u with ya bike, i tink the bike ya bought from vara 1984 has alot prob when he let go to u bro....

more over i bought the bulb at ah boy for $8 a pair, i fix up myself using gloves, the bulb will short circuit ya fuse if got moist from ya hand boy, btw dun let boy do a mans job as in taking out ya fairing, rewiring thingy, let the pro do it, i trust my mech ah wah does a great job cuz he is making al simmons bike like new one at ghc yishun, as a matter of fact, he does not charge for labour, my buddy blue dero aka ridzuan change to a RK Takagso chain or something the name whole set for at mere $170 n its japan imported stuff dude

he can give u an oil change $32 two bottle of fully syn, but only need 1 n half the other half u use up after ya next 4000 km, spark plug dat time niti change at ghc yishun denso normal $8 a piece, if ya wanna iridium denso $22 for more power if the best is split fire v platinum plug $48 a piece, it ya call.... :deal:

i dont think so, ive seen vara84 bike, and how he handles it, and well he takes good care of the bike...when he handed over the bike, his meter was 'ok lah working' after a fuse swop...this problem is the meter, which well if you read the guys in UK and france who owns the bike. they too reported that the meter has htis funky problem..

hello guys...Good day to ya all...

Daystar---Did they do wheel alignment for you when you change your tire? Or your rim still in good balancing ratio?.. If you seldom use your bike then ...not really out of alignment lah...:thumb:

Another Question for all...Our stock tyres pressure is 200front 200 rear...w/o pillion

200 front 250 rear with pillion...that measurement goes for Bridgestone Trial Wing

but how bout other tyres..Metzeler Tourance,Laser,Sahara,ME303,....etc..Perrelli Tyres...?????Are all tyres suppose to have the same pressure BARs??? cause if we really see some of our Broadness of the tyre is not the same..Example..Mine is 130/80/18 rear...but Daniyal's 130/80/17...Mine Metzelers his is...................... emmmmm i don't think its Metzeler lah...heheheeh..cannot remember:cheeky:

Another tips is about Spark Plugs...(if you got time to read ) Dont change your plugs when your engine is still in a WARM temperature..as the tightness might not be the same ya...

Example.... when metal is HOT..it grows big right?...when metal is cold..it sort of shrink ....so if you fix your plug when your engine is hot..and you tighten it max...then when if cools down..i mean relly cools down as in the early morning kinda cold....then you try taking out your Plug....its DAMNNNNNN tight......so when u change plug at the bike shop normally they wont tight it max....next morning you can still use your plug open and your BARE HANDS to turn maybe half round more...

So if you carry on tighten it to MAX when its hot..the thread inside your combustion chamber will be slighty "cut" out bit by bit......So good luck guys...if next time you change your plug and next day in the morning you check B4 starting the engine...check the plug tightness....(anybody got any tips on SPARK PLUG pls do share ya..)

Does WD40 eat up the rubber at the O-ring chain? if you are using it to clean your chain..i use FAB...powder...hehehehe but sloww lah...maybe can try kerosene or deisel...(is it a good idea...?)

The Exhaust rust problem..sholud be tackle fast..ya... i'm scared that the exhaust might have a hole then if the rust eats the matel more...maybe i'll try to get some heat proof cloth to cover it...(hope it serve the purpose)

click the picture below...stare at the open door for about 40 seconds..then guess what......???? aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

well im not going to argue with that advise.. but then... u know u never try u never know.. pingster.. family has a history of doing all this stuff (did u know) so i guess.. he does know his stuff .. unlike a person like me...

but then again.. if we always think of leeaving everyhting to0 mech.. we will kena bull from them big time..

like last time.. i dare not change light bulb.. and the mech also bull me so much.. until i trtied my self.. and ehh. not that hard what..

just try one and well niot hard..

if want to wait for mech.. our friend simon and azman.. exhaust will stuill be rusty.. like mine..

i guess. diy is ok.. but its of course a risk.. but with great rewards..

mech.. i find they are very generalized.. some very specilized in s4 or rxz or phantom.. other bike.. they arruse its the same.. and when things dont work.. they blame ur riding or ur bike...

*how may times have i heard that excuse..* so i believe in

take back the power from them... of course those reall complicated stuff.. can send to them as they have the tools.. but things like meter.. what u u htink the mech gonna say?

he prob say.. "change the meter" which will cost $900.. well thats a damm sucky.. solution.. i dont need a mech to tell me that..

but its a matter of opinion...

anyways next oil and sparkplug and oil filter change im gonna do it my self..

diy abit lah.. learb abit more abt the bike...
