Yo dakar,

Abt tire pressure its embossed on the side wall some where after like my tires 140/70/17 rear PSI 280 pirelli sports demon, front is 100/80/18 PSI 225 pirelli mt65.

abt spark plugs to be changed every 10k km for peak performance, denso iridium n split fire platinum r more expensive but worth extra power some might say, check out my previous posting abt alot of varadero tips dat might be useful to some but not others... :goodluck:

abt cleaning ya chain dun use detergent pls or diesel or watever nonsense ya inexperience frens told ya abt cuz it will really eat up ya chain n its metal n detergent will create rust bro, use rock oil which lengthen ya chain life or scotoiler device.

if ya or simone wanna get the clutch cable can go wif me 2moro to ghc yisun cuz i wanna change my chain....

:btw: if ya wanna diy change engine oil, filter be sure not to do it at hdb carpark cuz ya can be fine if the summon king is there to find fault with u...

diy the right way n knowing wat u do is better den gamble den spoil ya bike n kena ketuk by useless n dumb mech bros, more over fyi ah wah at ghc yishun has been doing varadero bikes since its debut, even translap, african twin, suzuki katana he has done it cuz with my own eyes ppl with big bikes queuing for this guy only when ghc has 4 lazy mech good for nothing, too me if ya good n earnest i will do my best to help u back.....cheers mate n happy fasting muslim bros...:hungry:

well im not going to argue with that advise.. but then... u know u never try u never know.. pingster.. family has a history of doing all this stuff (did u know) so i guess.. he does know his stuff .. unlike a person like me...

but then again.. if we always think of leeaving everyhting to0 mech.. we will kena bull from them big time..

like last time.. i dare not change light bulb.. and the mech also bull me so much.. until i trtied my self.. and ehh. not that hard what..

just try one and well niot hard..

if want to wait for mech.. our friend simon and azman.. exhaust will stuill be rusty.. like mine..

i guess. diy is ok.. but its of course a risk.. but with great rewards..

mech.. i find they are very generalized.. some very specilized in s4 or rxz or phantom.. other bike.. they arruse its the same.. and when things dont work.. they blame ur riding or ur bike...

*how may times have i heard that excuse..* so i believe in

take back the power from them... of course those reall complicated stuff.. can send to them as they have the tools.. but things like meter.. what u u htink the mech gonna say?

he prob say.. "change the meter" which will cost $900.. well thats a damm sucky.. solution.. i dont need a mech to tell me that..

but its a matter of opinion...

anyways next oil and sparkplug and oil filter change im gonna do it my self..

diy abit lah.. learb abit more abt the bike...

I agree with Visual. I rather learn to do things on my bike then rely on a mechanic. If you're a motorcyclist then you'd run to a mechanic every time a lil thing crops up. But if you're a rider(Passionate about riding) You will learn to do things yourself. Plus it is fun to troubleshoot things yourself. You learn more about your bike and how it functions. I commend Pingster on his lil headlight adventure, even though it cost him 5 bucks in fuses..heh heh. He has now learnt something valuable from that episode that none of us would have known unless we ventured out like he did. IMHO it is the best 5 bucks he spent.

By learning more things about your bike you dont leave yourself to the mercy of the mechanics out there. You know when they're taking you for a ride especially if you are knowledgeable about your bike. My bike is almost like my grilfriend - I take pains in getting to know her, externally and internally..heh heh. THIS is one of the joys of biking.

Well this is an example of life long learning..heh heh. I am a strong supporter of it.

Pro Dero>> Hey dude...you really put in a lot of very interesting and useful information about our bikes and we appreciate it. But what's up with the advertising of your mechanic?!?!?!? In every post that you create you mention him or the company. I think we all get it dude...Stop the :spam: Cheers dude.

Dakar>> If you wanna clean your chain use kerosene. Why I say it dude is because it is recommended by DID themselves. Read question 7 here. I reckon if kerosene is good for their chains then it is good for any of our stock and crappy chains..heh Don't worry about the pipes we'll get together and all do it. There are a fair few of us that wanna do it. Whenever i look at Simon's pipes i get so jealous. They look like they just came out of the factory...bugga(Simon-If your ears are itching, my apologies..heh)

Wild i & Visual, thanz for the supports Bros

Agree wif the both of u

by doing so, u can learn a lot of things, especially when things doesnt goes well...

more things tt i will DIY soon are oil and spark plugs, like visual. actually stuffz like these are quite easy to change 1.

Things i will leave it to the "Pro" will be things like clutch pad coz dun have the tools. Clutch cable stil can DIY.

Like the speedo experience, i called boon siew, I suppose they r also Pro, abt the speedo problem, they juz said change the whole meter. didnt even bother to ask me go down n take a look wat the problem....

Seriously speaking, i like to take things apart and den put them back together, provided i can remember... :cheeky:

its up to individual so u know lah :cheeky:

what goes around, comes around......

A question that was posted on Fuchs Spore website. For your references.

Meanwhile, I am checking the price with friend for our group servicing.

Q4. I'm riding a Honda NSR150RR motorcycle. I like to know which engine oil is better for my bike. Pro-4 15W50 (Fully Synthetic) Or Pro-4 Plus 10W50 (Fully Synthetic)?

A4. If you are riding a NEW bike, our suggestion is the Pro-4-Plus 10W50 for high-speed and high-performance. It is also value for money in distance traveled and longer life plus protection for the bike's engine.

If you are riding OLDER bike (>1-2 years or older), our suggestion is the Pro-4, SAE 15W50, a slightly thicker oil to compensate for the wear and tear of the internal components of the bike. It will still give you the high-speed and high-performance you required. It is also value for money plus performance and at a lower cost. Pro-4 provides similar or less in distance traveled.

SUGGESTION: Try out the Pro-4 and the performance first, and you will appreciate the Pro-4-Plus at high-speed/performance. Also, recommended are Silkolene Medium-Gear oil is very suitable for 2-stroke bike, and the Silkolene Light-Gear oil is suitable for newer 2-stroke bike.

See Link

Hope the info is useful.

Cheers.

I would suggest that the payment preferably to be made not later than 20 November 2004.

I will sms you guys (presently 6 of us) who are involved my POSB account for bank transfer or meetup for payment. And Dakar has already contributed his portion.

All acknowledgement of bank transfer shall be by sms. Collection by cash, I prefer to be at meetup, so got witness lah then no arguement later.

With all those money, i very :lovestruck: :lovestruck: but also very   .....

You all have my contact, call me if any problem.

Interested to get a second hand Varas. Would like to know potential seller and also like to know where most of you guys get your bike serviced.

Alright guys today i followed tijian and huz down to GHC yishun. i was there to find the clutch cable. I told him about the problem of my back wheel. He then told me that the rear brakes needs to be serviced. He started to take out the back brake and then lubing some parts of the rear brake. when he was done it was great not its free spinning again n my bike feels lighter.

the mechanic in his 40s is very careful and gentle with the bike no uneccessary banging on ur bike. he change the sprockets and chains for tijian bike. he even cleaned the rear tire before he replaced it with the new sprocket. it was very professionally done cos he seems to know what he was doing. He thighten the chained when tijian was on the bike and even lube the chain for him with rock oil chain lube. Extremly professional! and great attitude!

He is willing to hear your opinons and he give u feedback thats the kinda mechanic u want! he doesn rush things and seems to have time for u. thumbs up for GHC i would definelty recommend u guys to service your bike there.
