about SCAM shops,

Avoid GEYLANG BIKEshop at ALL Costs!

Long story, all i say is,

i paid $500+, endup realised many impt parts were NOT replaced.:thumb:

anyway any1 can share wads e cost of Full overhaul Vara125?

Ya i think so also. They told me it's expensive cos it's a 4 stroke bike n twin engine. Meaning double of everything. Piston, crankshaft etc.

Initially i tot it's the carburetor. But after servicing they say carb ok. Meaning they have to check my engine.

I asked how much but they keep on saying need to dismantle for them to noe the prob. After naked-ing my bike, say need to overhaul & cost $1000. Wah! Almost half of my salary.

I'm nt willing to part with that kind of money yet.

I said i dont want, just fix it back.

They say fixed back cost $350. Labour charge.

Wah kinda of feeling cheated.

But can't pay $350 but bike still spoil.

Lanlan pay $1000 for overhaul.

The bike shop is in tamp industrial. Smwher near dirtwheel. Forgotten the shop name

My same Qs: a 10yr old Vara125, COE ending, wads a gd price to quote?

Seriously $4.8k for COE ending Vara125 is ... err out man.

seriously Vara125 air filter costs $110 ?!!!

my my .. Honda PCX 2011 airFilter only $28, mine 200cc scoot is exp, yet only $39 (bikeworkz)

No offence, but is Vara service/parts costs$ tt ex?

Oh shucks, typed wrongly.

4.8k for a Vara COE until 2022.

How about the vara u're looking at?

Residual value of a 10 year old bike is very subjective.

Depending on the mileage, overall condition, any prior accidents, number of owners, uniqueness of bike, etc all plays a part. There is also supply and demand to consider.

So what's ur rough estimation of price based on the brief & general information I've given u?

4.5k-6k?

I would pay higher for a vara that is well maintained than save a little and then end up paying a fortune for repairs.

You would have to take into account the additional add ons like crash bar, high windshield, etc.

Maintainance wise, my feel is that it is generally not too ex. Buy your own parts and bring to the shop if u want. I tried K&T in ubi and not bad at all. Thanks to the recommendation by the friendly chaps in this forum

And not to mention the rarity of a GOOD condition vara for sale. One of our members just got a vara not too long ago that is ard 9 to 10 yrs old. Maybe u can check with him how much he paid.

I think he is "ferana01"

Ultimately, you r the one that is gonna ride the bike. Try it out and if it really is in good condition, go for it. Seriously, 500 depri vs for example 700 depri, 200 bucks difference a year!

I had a disgusting time looking for a good condition one when I was looking for mine and it took me a long time to find one in great shape

Thanks bro for ur opinion!

I'm still new to this bike, any idea what accessories I should be looking at? I can only tell crashbars, main stand, high windshield, hand guard.

just got mine. if based on 0 residual value, mine depreciate at 1.2k per year. it's an early 07 model with about 5 more years to go. mileage about 49k. outlook about 8.5. seems well maintain except I missed out on the fork seals leaking when viewing the bike. then again, it's a 5 year old bike so I think its in good condition for the age.

Will be selling my Varadero 125 soon

2003 reg so COE up for renewal in Apr 2013

Good condition, LOADS of aftermarket goodies (Arrow street legal exhaust, windshield, scottoiler, bagster bra, H&B boxes, etc etc) and recent service/tune at HKL, with all the usual consumables replaced plus two new tyres and a full fork refurb.

I've got a month before the new bike arrives but in no hurry so happy to speak with GENUINE buyers before I put it up for sale officially. HP: 91804772 (Mark)
