Just got myself a Versys 650. Did some mods to it and love the bike.

Ride wise totally different from inline 4 engines. This is parallel twin and its a bit more like riding a scrambler. But the low and mid is powerful. Can pop the front end easily. Not good for high speed cos the vibration sucks.

As for FC, i top up 17.9L and managed to clock 380km. Wow.... in

credible.

Maintenance wise, cheap. 2 liters of EO, 1 oil filter, 2 plugs, that's it.

Ride comfort is good but ride height is tall, but you can get lowering kit from KL.

 

Overall I'll give 7 out of 10.

I'm a Kawasaki rider. Rode an ER6F (same engine as a Versys 650) and currently on a Z8. Next upgrade is 2015 Versys 1k.

 

As for parts, fear not. I've been servicing my Kawasaki bikes at Bukit Indah, name of shop is Motormatic. The boss himself rides Kawasaki and he's an appointed authorised stockist for Kawasaki parts. Heck, my former Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom fuel pump only took 1 week to be delivered when I order thru him.

Lol it is a quiet bike.. Nothing to shout about.. Heheh.. Just a normal transport bike that gets me from A to B without breaking down.
