1) Where to get stuffs like engine guard, spark plug, etc....?

2) Where to get stickers?

Stickers is available from many many shops like LAB, auntie shop, motorX, malaysia, etc.....

Custom made one also available from auntie shop, motorx and malaysia- holiday Inn.

 

3) Where are the shop located?

There is a shop directory in the forum to search for the motor shop

4) Install of alarm?

Yap Super 4 can install cheetah alarm with remote control and it has water proof version. Where to buy? Sim lim tower around $ 50 without installation. MotorX with installation around $50- $60. Simple circuit lah self install can liao. Ask your friend to let you see can liao.

New alarm by Fatbiker. Price $67 - $134 exclude installation. Good 2 way alarm so that you will know if someone touches your bike.

 

5) What is hugger and belly pan?

Hugger is the one covering on top of your rear wheel.

belly pan is the one covering below your exhaust header.

 

6) How many litres of engine oil needed when changing them?

Without changing oil filter change oil filter

Project big 2.8 litres 3 litres

Version S 2.8 litres 3 litres

Spec 1 3 llitres 3.2 litres

Spec 2 3 litres 3.2 litres

Spec 3 3 litres 3.2 litres

 

7) When your idling speed goes up and down quickly.

It time for you to re-tune your bike. Which cost around $70 Thats what we call tunning

 

8) KNN air filter?

Yes there is too. Cost around $60 -$70. Air filter is a must to have clean air into the combustion chamber that means is the place where combustion takes places.

 

Washing of KNN filter at around 40 000 km. Washing can be done at most motor shop and cost is around $15. Please do check with the mechanic how they do the cleaning as the air filter should not be using air compress gun to dry. Rather it should be done when is sunny to let it dry under the sun for few hours. This way the pores inside the filter will not be damage.

 

 

9) What is HISS?

Honda ignition Security System. This system onlys allows the bike key with the program to be use to start the engine. No program NO start. Don't think about it as i tested on a normal key and it will not start.

 

What does it do?

There is a micro-chip install in the key that must be program to the device inside your bike.

 

What happened if i don't have the Program Key?

Then sorry, change the whole system.

 

How much to duplicate a new key?

$80 - $90 by Boon Siew(Parallel Import)

 

What happened if i don't have any more battery power?

Then you can't start bike, if you push start still can start.

 

Does it waste any battery?

Yes, it consume battery but of cos abit only as long as you start your bike daily.

 

Why does the HISS light goes off after about 24 hours?

It is because to save battery energy.

 

Does it works after the light goes off?

Yes, it still need the program key to start the bike.

 

10) When is the best time to do servicing?

Engine oil

(semi)- 3000km

(full-syn)-5000km

 

11) When to change spark plug?

distance-10000km

 

12) Coolant ?

10000km or check bi-yearly(2 years once).

 

13) Battery?

Yearly or you notice that the headlight goes brighter and dim after you start.

Spec 2 and Spec 3 meter when start will goes 2nd round

 

14) Bike cannot start got tick tick sound?

Maybe the starter brush is gone already and need to be replace. Usually it will takes 8 years before the starter is gone. Also if your bike is well maintain it will lasts longer.

 

15) Bike no electricity- no Headlight etc.

Fuse maybe the problem. Check the fuse at the side of the bike.

 

16) When to change brake pad?

If you notice that when you look at the pad from the side you can notice that there is a groove in it? if the groove is going to be gone that mean it time for you to change the pad liao.

 

*note do not wait till the pad is all gone. cos if that so the brake disc will be damage.

 

17) Spark plug cap keep coming off the spark plug.

This may due to the spark plug wrong tighten. Best is to change the plug by motorshop. Also it will not damage the plug thread.

 

18)Wheel bearing- when to change? What will happen?

For wheel bearing, if your wheel bearing is damage you will hear sound coming from it when you pass through humps. The sound like suspension damage like that but is not suspension damage. It will be wheel bearing damage.

The best way to check is to lift up the bike and shake the wheel if the wheel is able to move left and right then the wheel bearing is gone. Price for each bearing is around $15-$30.

 

19) Cone Bearing- TO BE UPdated

 

20) HID Bulb- This kind of bulb is being approval by LTA do check their website

For HID bulb- best is to get those with 3750k and higher colour one as they are brighter. Also becareful of the voltage and current use- misuse will damage your headlight

 

21) Grounding- This is to ground the stray currect back to your battery so you will have better response and better mileage

 

22) Voltage Stablizier- to stable your voltage also for better response and better mileage

 

23) Extra Light- NO NO this is an illegal things to do. But then alot of people do it.

 

24) Wind Shield- to shield you from wind if you travel for long distance

 

25) Voltage meter-To measure the voltage of the battery

 

26) Exhuast Pipe- Actually alot of people change it for cosmetic only. Power wise abit difference only

 

27) Tank Bra - To protect your tank from stone when travelling

 

28) Vtec indicator - indicate Vtec opening for spec 2 this light is telling you that you are travelling aroung 100km/h

 

29) Brake Hose - There are new stainless stain hose in the market and this is for more feeling of the brake and also better then the original one

 

30) chain oiler - scottoiler is the pioneer but due to its cost alot of new oiler came out. like rabbit oiler and DIY oiler etc.

 

31) Bike Transfer - For transferring of bike only need 1 day. As long as you got all the document (NRIC and LOG CARD), money and insurance.

 

32) Alternator

This item is to generate AC current to Rectifier

 

33) Rectifier

This is to convert AC current from alternator to DC current and use them or store them to the battery

 

34) Insurance

There are few insurance company you can actually get from, but in my opinion AIG is the cheapest.

 

35) Fork leaking- How to know whether your fork need to service fork?

By Stationary applying front brake and jerk down your fork if its is easily able to jerk down then is time for you to service your fork

 

36) Signal light one side intermittent on/off

This is a problem with the assembly at the switch there just open up and apply some WB40 will do the job.

 

37)Header

Header is the pipe after the engine block. This is an exhuast header to lead the exhuast out to the end can.

 

38) VTEC

When does Vtec opens?

Vtec opens varies for different spec.

VTEC 1 = 6700 RPM

VTEC 2 = 6350 RPM

VTEC 3 = 6350 RPM for first 5 gear and 6750 RPM for the last gear.

 

How to determine whether your vtec is working?

By installing a vtec indictor is the best choice and its very easy to detect.

For normal detect is by the pulling force when opens vtec.

Yes about to die off liao. you will have difficulty starting your bike.

Then you need to push start sooner or later.

Change it now to prevent it.

how often should we change the coolant? how to check if the coolant is enough? check the reservior? does mixing different brand of coolant have any adverse effects on the bike?

Its around 1 year once loh.

About 2 litres for Spec 1 2 3 include the reserve.

mmmm... u can try at the same shop where i get my respray... i saw many super4 there waiting to be sprayed. most with honda wings on the oil tank like spec 3 design. but i tink if u wanna spray gotta wait till next yr le cos the boss is on holiday till next mth mid of jan.

Hi, does anyone knows the difference between an O ring seal chain final drive and an enclosed final shaft drive? Or r they the same?

 

I read bout the 2007 s4 Spec III and the older models of Spec III and notice this difference..

 

Actually, I dun hav a Class 2A licence but I'm thinking of buying a s4 in the future.. Been reading up on the info on the s4 so tat I won't be a stranger to the machine when I get it.. Will appreciate if u guys dun mind I'm not an s4 rider.. Thanks..
