I have jus got a VerS. No sure of the style of the bike while riding. I have a few quries.cause don't know if it is a norm or is there something wrong with the bike. Kindly advice

1) When i follow cars along expressways, i see my speedo speed at 50~60 onli. Then, tried riding with my friend's phantom. Phantom at 90, S4 at 60.

?? Is my speedo spoiled?? or Am I riding slow?

2) the fuel guage is not accurate. Sometimes, when riding, sees full indicator, then at Traffic stops. the indicator becomes half.. confused??

3) What the the normal rpm to change gear? 3.5, 4?

4) When i change gear, the click sounds very loud. I scared i spoil the gear. So, i tried serveral methods to soften the sound of changing gear.

a) I close trottle, wait till the rpm returns back to abt 1K, the upz gear. (But waiting for the rpm to go back to 1K takes sometime.)

b) I drag till abt 4~5 rpm, then change gear.

??? Is this the correct method of riding??

5) Does the side stand have spring?

That means your battery is going flat! Better change a new one. Becos of my ignorant, my bike was unable to start. Not even push start!

spec 2 and spec 3 come with warning when your battery is weak. There will be 2 turns on the meter. one when you turn the key the other turn will be when you start your bike

Means we sumtimes don't fill full to 18L..other reason could be dirty carbs, carb settings and one time I heard low ire pressure may cause higher consumption but dunno if true or not.

Hi there, I'm asking on behalf of my friend who is interested in getting a 2nd-hand S4 VTEC. Although I have been riding for some time, when it comes to buying a 2nd-hand bike I don't really have any experience. Hence, I would like to know if any kind person can advise on which trustworthy shop to get one and perhaps some important things to take note when purchasing a 2nd-hand S4 VTEC. Thanks in advance.

Change batteries else it'll eat your rectifier then your magneto coil..

can you explain urself y it will eat the rectifier and magneto coil? as I have read, and know the function of both items, I dun tink it will affect it..( cos maybe wat I have read might be wrong)..there are a number of reasons that can cause rectifier or coil issues but I dun tink its batteries...maybe just cant start the bike..

Not sure about details but it goes coil to rect. to batt. When batt. isn't charging the current goes back to rect. and coil.

Quite sure about this cos it happened on my 1st bike and then to my frenz S4. Batt have a lifespan about 2yrs, so even if it's not giving problems it would be a good idea to change anyways.

2nd hand bikes are 50-50...Heard that the mechs at the big shop in Bendemeer (opp fire station) are OK but this is 2nd hand info..a bit ex though. Shop around and see if any shops will give a warranty period.

You can try my mine at Bedok industrial, Will Moto. Good place to buy bikes but the mechs aren't very good. The owner is OK though I can't gurantee anything. Different people have different relationships.
