Hi all.

I received a letter from LTA that fines me $70 for not having Cash Card inserted into IU.

The letter even states Vehicle Type as Motorcycle.

What happened to the usual $8/$10 fine? Is this a new regulation?

I have the best signature.

onemotoring.com.sg says

Motorists who pass through an operational ERP gantry without a properly-inserted CashCard in the IU, or one with insufficient monetary value in the CashCard to pay the ERP charges, will receive a letter within a few days of the violation requesting them to pay the outstanding ERP charge plus an administrative fee of $10, within two weeks from the date of the letter.

u might be charged 70 due to 2 reasons.

1. you did not pay the 10 dollar fine within 2 weeks thus it was raised to 70.

2. the gantry did not detect your IU at all.

i kana fined 70 for the 1st reason before. i went thru a gantry without cashcard but after 2weeks no letter whatsoever.. i thought i siam-ed the fine.. end up come one 70 dollar fine letter.. =_= it's best to go any AXS stations to check if you got any outstanding fines periodically.

omg they dont send u letter?

i had commited a similar offence, forgot to put cash card, however it's been more than 2 weeks, n i cant recall if the gantry was open also, so does it mean i didn't get the fine?

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

Its still $10 plus ERP charge.

Payment made via online or AXS machine its $8 plus the ERP charges.

Best to check with LTA, if not overdue shouldn't be a $70 fine.
