On average, how long does one can last? Just wondering... Might buy when I change my chain and sprocket cuz its really crap now. :B

i believe one can might last a year.. bought mine around the start of the year still got at least half or more left..

my case i used maxima small can, it last me 2yrs, i lub like once a wk one layer.. i gt my multi use from ah xiang, really a big can plus it thin like wd40.. i think can last me 3yrs smelly smelly...lol

I certainly hope those who are using the dupont chain lube now are enjoying every moment of their ride. I would say its a different exprience to run on dupont chain lube. For tiku, the multi-use is thinner and lubing it once a week will certainly helps to maintain the lubrication and the bottle will last for at least a yr. I gt my first batch of multi-use in the start of the yr and used it on my whole bike, from the brake/ clutch levers, to keyholes, foot pegs and side stand. I still have have half bottle left.

Great product. It is effective and it also have to wash away grits and dirt on the chain.

You may want to contact ah xian as he got a cmo trade quite some time back. I am not sure whether he still bring in dupont or not.

Very sorry for the late reply as i just saw ur post. I'm not bringing in the dupont lube anymore. I have closed the cmo quite some time back.

 

Here is guide to how to choose a chain lube that suits ur need.

 

For wet weather riding (mid or end year rainy season), choose wet lube as it can withstand the water better and gives better rust proctection but however, it will tend to pick up more dirt while riding through dusty area or even in norm riding condition so your chain gets cake up easier and need to clean it more often. Another way to get aound with freq chain cleaning is to apply a thin layer on the lube and that also helps to reduce excess lube to fly all over the place. Gives chain a wet look and bottle doest really indincates if its wet or dry.

 

For dry lube, it works well in dry condition [no rain] and dusty area or norm ride condition and picks up very little dirt from the road. When comes to wet weather, it gets wash off easier and may need to reapply again after riding in heavy rain condition. Gives chain a dry look as if the chain has not been lube and can gives a little chain noise when riding. For some reason, the bottles [across most brands] always indicated its a dry lube so making it easier to find.

 

Above is my own exprience after trying out diffenent brands and kinds of lube from oil [eg, EO and those oils used for auto lube but i just buy the oil and do it the manual way]. End of the day, there is no really bad lube[only use lube tat says o-ring safe] for the chain but rather does it suits ur needs and helps you max the life span of the chain [a clean, well lube and correct slag of the chain helps].

 

Motoworld carries the most brands and types of chain lube so you can drown urself there if the lubes [i dun work for them but so far thats the only place I can find so many brands of lube under one roof.]
