Encounter Tripod Camera with people camping at clementi road overhead bridge near NP

Has anyone encounter before people camping with a tripod camera at clementi Road overhead bridge just oppsite of ngee ann poly? Today i had spotted and seem like i ride about 75km/hr. still worrying.

i think either 60 or 70... the one when after Clementi Exit from PIE towards jurong, heading towards maju camp that road. at ngee ann poly main entrance nearby got a overhead bridge. my friend told me maybe it might not catching pple speeding maybe something else then ask me dun think so much. i been riding to work towards there for 2yrs. first time see that bridge got pple camping with a tripod scary.

isit near bus lane ? most people with tripod camera are to catch those in bus lane... especially near bugis area..

that side dun have any yellow lane for bus lane only. I still wondering these tripod camera catching what sia. my friends say might be catching other stuff like example big vehicle overloading etc. tripod camera at overhead bridge doesn't mean 100% catch speeding. izzit true?

is the guy in plain clothes or uniform?

ever see a guy in plain clothes tripod with cam on a bridge, i'm on the same bridge with him. n no, confirm not tracking speed, cos it's a regular vid cam. so perhaps it's some regular guy doing some project.

If they are not in uniform, they are surveyor. Recording traffic flow, congestion etc. That is why they have to camp there as its almost the whole day.

 

BUT I could be wrong! Maybe undercover TP!?!?!? lol

i can shed light on the matter.

 

if you all can recall, some time ago Traffic Police relinquished jurisdiction over speeding offences over to LTA. Subsequently, LTA outsourced the job of catching speeding offenders to parking-warden type of personnel, i.e, not the blue-uniformed policemen catching illegal modifications.

 

its exactly these people you spot on the overhead bridge, leaving the speed trap camera on the tripod to run all the day while they sit one side with umbrella sheltering them from the sun. unlike TP/LTA policemen, they are hired purely for speed trap operations and therefore are tasked to do this all day, unlike LTA policemen who are actually required to perform multiple enforcement duties. also, unlike LTA policemen, they have no authority to arrest, just like parking warden issue summons but no authority to make arrests, but their job doesn need such authority.
