some problems from newbie, pls help~

Hi,

 

I m a newbie in riding. I have a 2 questions i hope u guys can help.

 

1) If there is a white box draw on the side road and there is not board indicating the parking fee, is that mean that is a free parking lot? I asked this because i saw some ppls didnt put parking couple.

 

2) What happen if you go pass ERP without slotting your cashcard on the little machine? or ur cashcard run out of money?

1. there should be a metal sign indicating the parking charges nearby the lots. if there are none, it probably means FOC parking (unless there is a sign that mention the rates right at the carpark entrance already).

 

2. get fined. $10 admin charge + whatever amount the ERP gantry was supposed to charge u.

the parking lot is just on a road side (beside a HDB but not inside the HDB parking area) and i really cant find a board saying what is the parking fee.

i hope it is really FOC.... haha....

if it's on the side road, the sign can be anywhere from the start of the parking to the end. usually will have. can know where the place is so as to better advise?

 

if really unlucky, just appeal saying u're unable to find the sign. for 1st timer, usually is ok, beside it's $8 only.

the little machine is call a IU unit.

IU unit...

no cash card inserted = actual amount + admin charge ($10)

example charge for motorcycle to pass thru xyz gantry at xyz location is $0.50

LTA will send u a letter stating the fine... $10.50

but if u pay thru AXS (which almost all do it that way) U pay $8.50

 

If yours is the old iu then no choice, always remind your self....

if yours is the new slim iu, then u can sign up with the banks for auto debitting but at a cost oso...

or last alternative.... pay fine or.....

VERY SELDOM OR SHOULD I SAY .....

got foc parking.....

less Sun 730am to 1030pm

look out for signages is a sure way to tell u the necessary charges...

or when in doubt just put the $0.65...

it affordable & last the whole day better than pay $8 rite...lol

but sometimes I oso dun care lah...haha
