hey i just got myself an rs125 04 make.. anyway 2 weeks after riding it, my engine stalled when i wanted to slow down/gear down.. and after that, i cant seem to make it start again.. even if it did start, it will die off again after a few mins of riding..

ive read up on the net that the digital meter on the dashboard is the voltmeter for the bike's battery. it has to be around 12.5 v and above to have a good ride.. and today, it was around 5-8v.. then it broke down.. but there is a crank.. and the lights still work. just that the bike wont start or will die off after a few mins of riding.

i only have 2 opinions on this.. either the spark plug is faulty or the battery is weak..

kindly advise?

there are many reason why your bike cannot start...

as the bike is about 7 years old...aqnd you have no history of this bike..

check...spark plugs, filters air, petrol , and any strainers in your bike..make sure all of them are clean if not change or service them..

check your petrol for contaminations..

check for spark..

if every thing is in order then try push start...if bike can be started..means battery issues.

if still cant get it started...check for compression...

if all the above fails...send it to workshop ...it is too complicated to explain here..

nb...check your spark plug ...it can give you a good idea of the fuel mix conditions..

bike dying while riding...often the carb is flooded..

So u guys recommend that i get my battery checked.. And spark plug changed? And what are the main reasons that the carb is flooded?

the petrol valve in the carb bowl is contaminated...unable to close valve fully..resulting in flooding of the.

carb.

in this condition..other than petrol/air mix getting into your engine...the liquid petrol is also sucked in. the engine dies or poor power delivery.

But i waited for a few mins then can start the bike again... But after riding for awhile it died off. That means the bike can still run even if the carb is flooded? But then it will die off again? How do u know that its not the battery problem?

in a flooded carb...you can start bike...when you try to ride off..it will stall.

battery either not charged up which is always the case when your bike cannot star..as you will drain battery by trying to start bike...get it recharge...if it does not discharged off after charging after a day or two..then it is ok.

alright.. i changed the battery today.. but if the carb is flooded.. how do we fix this? is this the only reason why the bike always stalls? the flooded carb? or are there other reasons.. and how do we fix the carb floods? tuning it?

iff you are able to ride bike normally.after changing the battery..than it is not a flooded carb issue,

you need to clean the mentioned valve in the carb..to solve the flooded carb problem. if you have no idea what i am saying do not mess with the carb..as this is a piece of precision and sensitive device. do it at your own risk..

sign of overheating issue...

bike over heating...

components overheating ie...failing electrical/electronic parts or wiring issues...etc.

have your cdi check...this item could be dying...

fuel lines..air lines choked/dirty..
