COE expires in Sept, Road tax expires in June. Can i still renew Road tax?

Dear SB bros,

 

Could you please advise if the road tax can be renewed for a few months till COE expiry? My understanding is road tax renew is for 1 year but currently on a very tight budget now so trying to hang on to my bike a while more

Road tax can renew for 6 months.

There is a penalty for delay renew road tax. They are stated on the renew letter.

If renew for 6 months, then scrap bike in Sept, will the TS get back any road tax refund for the remaining 3 months un-used?

Yes, remaining road tax will be refunded if machine is scraped.

I had this issue once, my insurance didn't cover my road tax period of 6 months. I spoke to the road tax renewal officer. He helped me by making my road tax end on the same date as my insurance.

 

I was only renewing for about 4 months. I only paid for 4 months (they will calculate)

 

So when my insurance ending. I just bought new insurance and renew roadtax (either 6 months or 1 year)

 

If they can do it for my insurance I don't see why they can't do it for your coe.
