Would like to check with you that after all the hassle and difficulties, did you manage to get your MY commercial license to drive your van into Malaysia? And if so, how did you obtain the MY commercial license? Or have you totally given up altogether?

I din even try to get it - it seem that the MY commercial license have to be renewed yearly thru medical inspection. To get the license is no hassle - jus book a test date & go for the test but the yearly renewal could be problematic, similarly as the MY taxi driving licence for S'porean. So it is really your choice - the test & medical inspection dun cost alot of $$.

Thanks limbat for your fast reply. However, it's a pity that after spending RM1,500 and going through all the effort to get the van inspected and certified, you've decided to forgo the test and medical examination.

 

Sorry, just 1 more question. When you drove into JB the last time, did you use the normal lanes for cars or you will have to use those for lorries? Thanks mate.

It was 1 of those things ........... besides the Euro 4 compliant Fiat Doblo cannot use MY diesel fuel as well, so I tot no point even if i wanted to drive it to KL also cannot. Haiz ........

 

I use normal lanes on both check points.

Haizzzzzz ........... wat to do, getting the license, then must go yearly medical to renew - last straw was the Doblo cant use MY diesel. So finally I decided - give up laaa. Toooo troublesome............ recently a fellow biker ask if got Class 4 can drive inside MY ornot. I ask already - also cannot - U must have MY goods & services License to drive that class of vehicle on MY road. If drive our SG pickup truck inside MY, dun know can ornot ??

Yes, I did & yes the van got licence, but the driver ( me ) dun have their MY licence lorrrrrrrrr

Pls check when we go take the test - I am sure you can have guests but they may not be covered by yr insurance if there is an accident.

are there any bigger vans like the scudo , or renault trafic or totyota hiace that are petrol drivven and can register with private plate? meanign Sxx plate?

i saw some panorama on the road b4 and oso wondering whats the price of these panorama? they seem a lot like the doblo.. are they same?

got.. i saw some old hiace S plate 1.. but the road tax etc i heard is more ex. ... but wonders whether the new hiace can like that register anot.. if can why not.. can ferry more ppl & goods in/out MY =D
