hey guys.. i've been surfing the sgbikes lately in search of a bike..i'm really really confused of which bike to take...im more of a economical rider at the same time i would like to speed once in a while..so far i've been eyeing on rxk which is going for $688, on of our fellow forumite is selling it, and the vespa px150 going for 2k.my budget is actually ard 2-3k. but it seems to me that spark 135 seems to be a good bike and if that the case then i have no choise to extend my budget..so dear forumites..advice me on what i should get.. oh yeah one more thing, i would rather pay off everything for the bike then rather to pay monthly..thanks guys...

help help

IF FC is in in one of your consideration then don't go for a sportsbike..

If you want easy/simple maintenance..Get a four stroke..

Choose wisely..

I have tried to see things from your point of view..But no matter how hard I try..Or what I do..I just can't get my head that far up my butt..

I'll share my info with you about the RXK though. Cause I'm riding one for a spare bike.

Maintainance wise is cheap. Esp if you go to Msia. Just overhaul the piston, ring and conrod, wash carb, changed front/rear tires, decarbonize and service the front fork all for just $300 sing dollars. And still has change for petrol and 2 bottles of Castrol 2T. Do the same in Singapore and you'll probably looking at a bill of at least $500.

Petrol consumption is quite high for a 2 stroker like RXK but you have to consider that it's an old bike. $10+ will get me about 220km mileage though I have not yet try to travel til the last drop of petrol is gone. 2T wise is also average, just as long you watch your 2T intake. A bottle of it will last you at least 3 weeks depending on the way you ride. I ride almost everyday so 3 weeks is not bad. Castrol 2T in Msia is only $9 ringgit per bottle so don't save the cash buying lousy 2T.

Insurance for a 23yr old is about $300 from NTUC. But be warned its 3rd party insurance. Road tax is $60 for half-yearly.

Top speed I've managed to attain is close to 130kph. But that also depends on your condition of your bike. But its fast for pickup though... Those 4 strokers X1, Sparks will definitely be slower on the pickup.

Not to mention, if ya feeling in da mood, there's always so much to mod and change the outlook of the RXK. Seen many with retro outlooks, saddle bags, single meter, round headlights and rewrapped seats... Looks retrolicious! :D

Hopes my info helps in your decision in getting a fun yet cheap transport bike! :goodluck:

I agree.

If you have cash money of 2-3k, get a good condition RXK, spend a few hundreds bucks doing it up, insurance + road tax and you still have at least half of your cash money left!

*edit* spark 135 will set you back around 3.5k minimum for just the machine... insurance and road tax.. easily 4k. *edit*

however mostly are new, so not much major maintainence to take care of.

fuel consumption is considered decent for a cub.. but fuel tank is too small for my convenience.

comestic modifications are also all out there in the market.

no 2T issues to talk about...

top speed is probably around 120km/h on the meter.. actual speed debatable... pickup is.. decent for single rider.

thats all i guess.

bro, u must realy consider rxk. affordable bike. speed wise cn go faster than 4 strokes. outlook can go for old skool.

u just hav to chose the best rxk.

if got more budget , go for spark or x1. no 2t. easy maintain.

speed go kr, petrol- full tank can go 300km.

i used to ride rxk, x1 and now kr. among tis three, i prefer 4 stroke(x1)

No comments for Vespa, never ridden it before. I am riding a KRR at the moment. KR is a damn good 2 stroker, but most KRs in the shops been whacked to hell and back oready. So quite hard to find one in decent condition. Spark135 is a good economical bike, but its quite expensive to get seeing its so popular now. RXK is another time proven time, but personally, I would get RXZ instead. Spare parts abundance and pretty much all mechs in JB are good with it.
