Mine have been tweaked for FC, dun care that much for speed. Anyway the torque and speed is more than enough for Singapore Roads. I always travel from Bedok to Clementi every day for work. My FC if my wrist is not heavy will be 21km/l to 23 km/l. If touring, where you cruise most of the time for long distances, I can hit 23km/l easily.

Most reported getting 18km/l to 19km/h, which is still good for a 750cc. Maybe the other rider may wish to add/comment?

.

How did you tweak it for good fc, I wanna tweak my gsr 400 for gd fc too. Doing 19 to 20 only. And hw much u spending tweaking it

Marko my gsr has the same FC as yours haha but its ok, cause FC depends on the distance and speed at which u go to and fro, if you stay in the east and work in the west my guess is FC is better than those that stay in west and work in central??

You have to play around with wat you have. Yes Ricko says is true. Distance, Number of traffic lights, speed, number of stop and go...All plays apart in getting good FC.

Rule No 1: NO HEAVY WRIST TWISTING. Twist slowly and gradually. Hard twisting of the wrist will burn off more fuel.

Rule No 2: See Rule No 1.

As for mods, you could install:-

- an air-fuel controller to make the bike more responsive, or more economical for everyday usage. To tell you the truth, there is no change of FC when I was on the 400cc.

- Suzuki bikes uses different fuel maps on different gears. I am using an ATRE to trick the ECU in thinking it is in Gear 6 (Cruising mode). This does help a lot.

- Tire pressure must always be in tip top shape. I always keep mine 250 (front), 290 (back).

- Chain Oiler does help in a certain sense to keep the chain well oiled so smoother power delivery to the rear wheel.

ic, means changing gears earlier is good? haha anyway i saw a gsr750 review it says 10% better fuel consumption compared to gsr 600. i think this will be my bike 3 years later =)!

10% better fuel consumption is a lot. Example. If your vehicle can only achieve 10km/l and the tank can hold 100 litres, you can go 1000km. If there is a 10% improvement, this would mean 11km/l. Thus with a 100 litre tank, you can travel 1100km. A difference of 100km. In the real world example, I can hit 340km before hitting reserves. Which I can ride up to 370km++ before its really out of fuel. A lot of difference from the 600cc.

As for changing gears, you will need to experiment with the bike. You could start off by changing gears at 4000rpm (NO HARD TWISTING) and only when you hit gear 6, gradually up the rpm to your targeted speed. See which rpm changing gear gives the best result. Anyway on a 400cc, travelling 80km/h at gear 6 does save petrol. I can hit 23km/l - 24km/l at those speed.

Dun worry wont explode. It is still comfy with dat pressure. Juz dun forget to pump. Tat is one of the most important component to getting better FC.

how often u pump?

Best practice is every time you pump petrol. If you can instill that habit, you are there. ALSO best to pump when the tires are not hot (means bike have not move). The theory is air in the tires will expand when the tires more due to heat. Pump when the tires are cold will give you the correct pressure. As for me, I have a portable pump at home. So usually weekends nothing to do I go pump my tires hahahah.

If I were you I would get a 2nd opinion. From another trusted bikeshop. For these type of repairs, I would not compromise quality and workmanship. You do know that Cheap does not mean Good. Anyway how much is the Mileage on the bike? Reach 80K huh?

Maybe you can let the old birds to check it out. It might juz be your imagination. Anyway, you can try Hodaka Motoworld or even Planat motors. Juz to confirm if need to overhaul. Then depends on you where you wan to do it. Maybe you could turn up for meet ups and meet the rest of the clans. There will be one regular meet up on every wednesday nite at New Hawa Restaurant, Simpang Bedok. Provided it did not rain.

Dammit! I thought can change hahahaha. Anyway if get ABS, wan to change Aftermarket brakelines got issue, need many many moni. So many lines. So I guess have to train my right leg and fingers to be sensitive to ground conditions....Manual ABS

As for Ricko, his is a 2nd hand bike, mileage 58K which should not be overhauling yet. Some bikeshop like to 'scare' people. So told him to get 2nd opinion first. If really the case, then guess the 1st owner whack the bike like hell.
