irregardless if u go for breakfst, shopping..dating...check in hotel...whever part of malaysia.. my advise is NOT ONLY TO HANDLE LOCK but get an alarm lock ( SBK got sell)for ur front disc. and a U-SHAPE LOCK (MOTOWORLD got sell) for the rear wheel.. bt my guess is...the best choice to make while in JB is...it be wiser to go in groups and never leave ur bike unseen, and always its within sprint distance if u happen to see someone approach ur ride. if u happen cannot sprint... a flying helmet will do the JOB.

I was the guy who's Vara was stolen @ Taman Daya. I was going for a quick breakfast so i did'nt lock the steering. 10 miutes into my breakfast, i heard a bike started that sounds similar to my Vara.

 

Out of curiosity, i walked out of the kopitiam , saw a fella riding past me in a bike that looks LIKE MY Bike!!! I turned to where my bike was LAST PARKED, and WTF, my bike was'nt there!!!

 

So i rushed to the main rd, hoping the fella will turn my way, and he did. as he rode past me ard 60kmh, i pushed him but he did'nt fall. I was knocked to the ground by the impact and broke my left wrist as a result.

 

My mistake:

1) Did'nt steering locked.

2) Alarm not working and i did not repair the alarm.

 

So guys, pls take note and be careful when in M'sia.

Go public better.. its linked frm the checkpoint to the shopping mall.. again, aware of your surroundings.. you are constantly watched without even knowing.. if u wana ride, cn consider park ur bike at nearby sheng shiong near wdlands chkpt.. walk a few minutes to customs..

 

keep ur belongings close, pouch facing front, inter-loop to belt hole for anti-snatch precaution.. keep a lookout for small groups of guys who like to linger at the escalator or bridge.. dem up to no good..

How are u guys..?

 

Well, riding has been so gerek since kena gantung last 2 years. Now back with a triangle, I'm riding a gilera with my ever lasting hepco doin it's job at the back.

 

Jus wanna Noe if the guy who bought my ex vara is here at the forum. Believed that he's staying in cck. My plate number was FV 41-- H. Would to check out how's the bike is modded up.

Bro, no worries.. dat night u not the only vstrom who lost.. we oso 'lost' one vstromm otw to nusajaya dat night for supper... he excited wen see many-many speedsters past us.. dun blame him cuz long time no clear carbon !... the best part, got added worry cuz brudder wear slippers.. *LOL*.. but it was nice riding again wif dat brudder after so long..

I interested in the answer to that question. I cross into jb very often and had my twin ripped from there. now have Hiss equipped Vara and was in the hope that its could not be started without the key.

So far we have try using it a duplicate key that does not have a micro chip on it. Bike unable to start so still safe....but who's know, maybe the guys can bypass it or use a tow truck to tow away...so have u claim back your insurance claim...just curious how much do u manage to claim for ur twin....

 

 

[email protected]>> Forget about finding back your vara...i think u better start to do your homework regarding the market value of your vara....etc recently transaction done at sgbike.com or straits time. I bet this will help in your process of claiming back from the insurance...the insurance will try all way to reduce 50-60% of the market value...i manage to claim back my twin abt 90% of the market value......all u need is to proof them the recent transaction...Good luck for ur claim....Lastly, after 3 month u need to go back to the JB Police HQ near the causeway to get the final report to confirm your bike cannot be found....our local insurance will start to compensate you the losses...

 

Anyway adventure bike like twin,vara, vstorm can fetch good value in malaysia......so guys better take good care of your loves ones when u park at JB...
