new vara owner here from malaysia..i have on 02 model..im looking to purchase a crash bar for my bike..will be in spore this 23rd..do u guys know where can i purchase them? thanks my fellow biker..

Fellow riders.. pls do not leave your belongings unattended at GP esso or petronas.. even for seconds. My wallet got stolen this morning from my tank bag. I left it unattended for less then 20 seconds cos went to the counter. So pls be careful..

just few questions on my ride :

1) when i kick from gear 1 to gear 2 , there this "klack klack klack" sound as if its not engage properly but it happens all the time when i kick to gear 2 .. changing to higher gears are alright .. whats the remedy ?

2) i feel the that my bike is sluggish when hit expressway, it feels like "gear 4 but the speed only at 50km/h" ,wrong gear kind of feeling but actually i am at gear 4 and hitting 80 km/h already ...

 

maybe must let the abang-abang here try my ride , hahaha .. or is it normal ? nvr rode an adventurer before , so maybe the vibrations are normal ...

 

but have to say am falling in love with the machine

 

Vtwin is meant to vibrate more then V4 so it is normal Khai.proper Vara need a good points of grounding which i did on my ride last 2 weeks and it helps in lessen the vibration. and to remove the Tank is no big job but, putting it back WaHa!! accidentally hit the fuel catch onto the crash bar and fuel is just like tap water keeps on running out of the Tank.Now perfect!

 

And did some carb cleaning by changing the fuel jet and stuff.now all good to go

 

as for the gearing section,should you under throttle on Gear 1 and kick to gear 2 in an instant Klack Klack will happen to me as well.

Bro, sad to hear the news.. I hope u hv done the needful to prevent further damages; card-cancellation, NRIC-license replacement etc.. cheer up k.. I emphatize hw u feel... been in same shoes before...

 

for the other brudders, due care for your belongings.. be it in Malaysia or 'safe' Singapore.. anything cn happen due to a moments fallacy! there has also been cases of run-by-snatch thieves who loot Singaporean riders belonging like pouches at traffic stops.. safer to keep ur wallets/ travel docs in box until needed..

Wow...Nowadays..GP Esso & Petrnos also not so safe. Better safeguard your expensive helmet & other belongings...Handle lock or alarm your bike when going to the counter..I think they changing location to target the sg bikes.

sometimes it could be due to build-up of 'sludge' at front spockets dat causing the sound.. a good degreasing job might solve it..

 

the way u describe ur symptoms could also be due to 'warped' front sprocket, a similar problem i facing nw but not so obvious sound as my clutch plates recently seen. time to change the normal 'wear and tear' cycle i suppose..

 

there are still details about ur fatgerl to explore. A sit-down with the brudders will offer a free 'consultation'..

not very loud but its had become better but still on and off after i applied some 4wd on the gear lever .. unless its the clutch plate , gonna change front and rear sprocket with chain, price , any bro noe where and good place to do vara ??

Thanks for the overwhelming response to the idea of a local ride.... After a discussion with some of the bros here last friday at Hot, stuffy and sweaty Simpang, we have a suggestion of the ride being held on the Last weekend of June.

 

That will be the 27th June 2010.... Now can we have a show of hands for the ride...any violent objections?

 

The route will be planned out in due time but not disclosed to anyone till the ride day itself... This will add to the fun factor of the ride

 

Our Bro David has also voiced out interests in checking out BOB'S HOME STAY off Kota Tinggi and from reviews, it seems like a nice place to hold a VARA Get together before the end of the year.
