Sorry - hope someone can reply who recently went through the Aranyaprathet/Poipet Checkpoint.

 

I am planning to go over x-mas and I am still not quite clear what I need to get into Cambodia:

- Visa (as we are German/Italian) -> But I understand I can but at the border? Is that correct?

- Insurance: So I read, buy at the border... Thai or Cambodian side? Do the Cmabodian guys check it?

- Log Card... Just the one and they will photo copy it?

The bike is Sinagpore registered.

 

Anything else?

 

I also read somewhee else that once the Passport is stamped one is told to see customs. But it is advisable not to do so. Apparently no problem to get in and out again later...

Visa upon arrival is available at the border.

 

- Insurance: So I read, buy at the border... Thai or Cambodian side? Do the Cmabodian guys check it?

Thai side requires you to purchase 3rd party motor vehicle insurance. I've entered Cambodia at 4 different checkpoints, I've never purchased any vehicle insurance for all of my visits to Cambodia

Bring along just in case, so far they only checked mine at Dong Kralar border checkpoint.

This process is just for vehicle declaration. No fees required. 30 minutes tops is all it takes.

Anyway Cambodia's road is keep right one, in malaysia/sg, its keep left, total different road rules. or u guys like the villagers same same one? no helmet, no license, just ride, every 1 week accident one time. traffic light got countdown one, dam cool. 5 seconds before green light and the timer will appear to ask u get ready. lolz
