Hi Gurus

I've traded in my ex-car for another 2nd hand Chevy to a dealer which i bought the car from.

I first downpay for the Chevy and sales agreement in April and oso did the trade-in documentations within the next few days with them.

Till now, I still receive reminder letters from Maybank to pay installation and overdue interest for my ex-car. While on the other hand, I'm oreadi paying installment for the Chevy.

Later, I found out from one-motoring website that I still have both car registered under my name.

The car dealer have quit the company and ask me to talk to another dealer which says their admin is sorting things out. But 3mths oreadi!! @@

Is it normal for trade-in deals to be like this?

Should i pay for my ex-car loan installment?

(I'm worried if i dont pay, will affect my credit rating and affect my HDB loan assessment...)

pls anyone can enlighten me who how to make the car dealer to deregister my car?

Thanks

Bro... you mentioned that you did the trade-in documentation with them. Go back to the shop and check what. With some dealers, you need to be persistent.

Meanwhile, with regards to the instls for your ex-car, it will surely affect your credit standing if you don't pay for the instls. Also, if your car get repossessed, it may make things worse...

One way would be to call up the bank and check with them if there was any enquiry made by the dealer to fully settle your ex-car. If not then your dealer has bubbled you and haven't done anything for the past 3 mths.

Another thing is while you continue to pay for the instls, check with the bank how much is the full settlement amt after taking into consideration your payments. At least you know if the dealer is trying to make a quickie from the payments that you've made against the agreed price they will take in your vehicle.

Juz my 2 cents.

In case you did not realise, I thought this case was reported in the straits times months ago? A few buyers had this problem. For your case, go to CASE, they should have consolidated all the cases.

Did i use too many "cases"?

Thanks for all the advises folks.

The agent got all sorts of excuse to make me go thru all the transfer docs again.

He told me signature not correct la.. Transfer pin from LTA lost, they nvr keep lah.. finance cock up lah... blah.. blah.. blah..

I went to LTA legal dept. The officier told me that by law, its duty of both party (seller and buyer) must ensure transfer of vehicle within 7 days.

If not both r wrong. But now if the seller is determined to play punk, I'm also wrong?? I have done my part oreadi. I even make the effort to get transfer pin from LTA myself..

Sian till date the vehicle is still not transferred. Think im going to try CASE. Hopefully they r not too tired to handle too many such cases..
