Hi, Im sharing my hear say. Fc 8-12km/l, 2t drink 2 time faster than SP. Bike now at least 17-20+ years old. Almost impossible to find EVEN 2nd hand engine parts. Wiring and electrical system all cut up, scotch tape and loose. Fairing all plaster b4. Meter, metal parts all spray paint, rusty. Fork spring very rusty, seals.. monoshock still original 15yr old rusty oily..

 

Conclusion-- My dream bike because of Andy Lau!!!!! (I wish Im a girl..pillion behind him.. :p ) btw Im a straight guy

-- Current king of 2a, after nsr400...no more legal

--Track eater.

 

Downside--Cost more to maintain as transport bike than taxi

--Engine 'piak' will make you cry 10 day 10 night bcuz Ah Long also dont have enough money help u..

well thats the difference between hear say and actual experience..

the only things i agree with the above is:

 

1. the age.. 17-20 years old.. BUT those are pgm3 and a very rare jewel to find!. its considered by many as the best pgm model.

but for the keycard single arm pgm4 its younger that that..

 

2. 2t drink 2times faster than sp.. well what the Fu.. does anyone expect? its got double the cylinders!

Wondering if i should get a PGM. So want to ask all the PGM riders, how much the maintenance cost... Like the parts, easy get? whats the mileage per liter...

 

3 reason you should:

1. if u a big fan of 250cc GP

2. if u a big fan of two stroke bike

3. if want it as a toy

 

maintanence:

sorry i'm not calculative.. i think full service/change rings is 200-300

top overhaul 350-500?

replace new crank+conrod= around 1-1.5k

tyres 250

2t: we normally use $25 above

gearbox oil: $18 per year or half year.. haha

spark plug: dunno dun care.

 

spare part: yes easy to get.. what part u want?

good idea, maybe u want to try buy spare part first see easy to get or not.. hehe

 

mileage: 17km/l if dun 100% ride like a loon

 

bottom line is: i think as long u got stable job, and u use it for a toy, $$$ wont be problem

heck! we even have students riding this bike.

2A 2 strokes are all money drainers, even the newer Aprilia 250s.

 

yeah.. n the letters NSR doesn't translate into fuel savvy transport bike.

is it like wearing football boots to jalan jalan ION/VIVOCITY?.. haha

Used to ride a IV during year 2000-2003

erm... Ok la... So far this bike never kill me. All the while using castrol A747 2T n change gear oil every 1000km or monthly. (whichever comes 1st)

overall I'll say it's affordable...

T_T $40/liter? Just stole a pgm4 off a fellow sbf guy. For some reason its well maintained so no problems there. the fuel wise its not under 15km/liter...self tested @_@

That time if I can remember correctly is looking at $31 or $32.

Ya... It's selling $40 now n I'm still using it... (for my vintage RXK)

I feel that if u really like that bike so much u should just get it coz it's gonna be a once in a life time issue... U not gonna ride it when u r old right? So dun live with regrets...

The servicing etc wun kill wan so dun worry... I change my piston every 3 months coz want my bike to be in tip top condition...

if you love the sound of dry clutch, go for it....

Cheap + fast = no good

Cheap + good = not fast

Good + fast = not cheap
