Hi ya guys... im very much interested in aerospace industry as well. I jus got into the TLAE by ST aerospace eng, yep its true, 3 years of structured training followed by 5 years contract. Lookin forward to start trainin soon on august..

Saesl called me up just now, will be attending the interview this thursday.

Previously I was offered for the Trainee Technician post 2 years back in 2006.

But the pay was miserably low at that time.

 

For Trainee Technician. One year training. During 3 months of attending theory class = $800. On job training = $1000. During that period I was earning 3.5X that amount in a US MNC I was a fresh poly graduate.

 

After 2 years. I applied for the Trainee Inspector position. One of the requirements required with a Diploma with 2 years working experience

 

So bros who have friends or currently working in Saesl as a Trainee Inspector please advice how are the basic pay and allowance they offerered during the 2 years of training and thereafter serving the 2 years bond upon graduation.

Imagine those engineers and managers in the 40's kena retrench, how to find job sia outside... :cry:

Yes!...Gurantee. If u without experience, its unlikely they will hire u as inspector. Else, they take u as trainee. Trainee means wat? You are learning,so its miserable.

i agree to certain extent, but bro..its not bomb proof la. this one i surely can advise you. Its more "bomb proof" then the semicon electronics cos its a niche industry but no totally bomb proof. There are company that retrench also in aerospace cos of strong competition and not making money. Its true. And when got 9/11 and SARS period, i tell u, u can stay at home for months w/o pay. Take this scenarion la, aerospace is basically abt planes aircraft. Airplanes are basically "sky taxi's". Its a domino effect. Economic downturn, less ppl travel, airlines make less money, fuel price rockets, eat into airline profits. If u free, go to car workshops and see, now this period sure lesser cars in workshops, Why ?? Less ppl take taxis, why? Cabbies earn less If I not wrong the salary range they follow structure....

Hi bros, two months back in september i attended a talk at Temasek poly whereby Etihad airways is partnering with lufthansa technical training (based in temasek poly) whereby they wanna recruit trainee LAE's to work with them at abu dhabi. i would be going for training at temasek poly for a few months and then work at abu dhabi. i recieved a reply from them about a week ago that im shortlisted for the 2nd interview. i will be bonded for a few years if i were to work with them. do u guys think it is a wise move to work with them? they would provide me accomodation while im still a trainee there till im a full pleged LAE whereby they will give me housing allowance. wad d u guys think??

me also went for the career talk..but considering dat I have to pay for the training by Lufthansa in temasek poly kinda sour it..cos its a full time course and cant werk to pay off the course..its a gd deal..for those who oready have basic papers in aviation..

if im nt mistaken they will be paying like 7500-8000 dhs(UAE currency) per month and yes its a caas liscense. im nt sure abt the aircraft type yet coz im still waiting for the 2nd interview, hopefully ard next month.
