I've heard it's quite high for those who are very experienced, but not sure how true this is.. i'd like to know more before heading there... anyone can advice?

Hi guys!

Juz asking that during a maintenance engine run, the engine catches fire, what should u transmit? A "PAN" call or a "Mayday" call?

Thanks a lot,

different places different pros & cons.

am working with SIAEC for about 5 years now. apart from the free tickets, there are other certain perks and privileges. I think those who are in the EIR trade in base maintainence should know. ;)

those are quite erroneous statements.

there are NO career prospects.

the company is so small,do you think you have an easy climb to the 'top'?

before you can even start to climb, the uncle who's had years of experience already cut your queue liao.

the auto pay rise of $200 every year,is actually now under review.

next year onwards is gonna be performance based.

perhaps they realised that massive auto increments ain't such a wise thing to do.

one thing is right though.the air-con.

but if you're that easily satisfied, then yes saesl is the place for you! :cheer:

Hi, I'm new here and this topic really catch me now lol. Cos Im currently in a dilemma now. I am a graduate from Temasek Polytechnic Diploma in Mechatronics. Now I'm working in a MRO company called GoodRich as a technician(temporary) and STA called me just only. He was asking whether I could turn up for an interview next wednesday for the Trainee LAE programme starting in 1st October. I wanted to ask him for more info but he insist that I turn up on wed for more info but what i feel is that it is such a rush.

I want to have more time considering during this long weekend before going down on wed then the next 1 or 2 days make a rash decision (as i need to give a 1 wk notice before i leave my current company) So i was hoping somebody who knows or work as an LAE in ST give me more info? Like the training, allowance, career path, pay, working environment, time, as much info you can lol. Thanks in advance!

ST aerospace has been advertising in the classifieds for dont know how many weeks. I guess they're still looking for staff.

As for SIAEC, its been awhile I've seen any trainees being hired.

As for RSAF, I'm not sure. Must be very well disciplined I guess?

Hmm..oh i see...they pay is not very attractive, I felt i'm underpayed. I was originally offered only $1.3k which is real low..and i fight and fight only manage to up till $1.4k.People are telling me i can find better offer out there but there are also people telling me its ok..it is just a start, get the experience. Also the thing is that the working environment for me is comfortable for me, and i believe some of the benefits there provided may not be found easily at other organisations out eg. full-taxi fare claim when doing OTs for a min of 2hrs.

Thanks for all your advices! Guess i'll stay in GoodRich and pursue my degree course in UniSim next year..can take coy bus to jurong east dont need squeeze in mrt!! :p

$$ Money is not everything, 1st job as long reasonable pay or a bit low, just accept and work first, economy not very good now. If u dun want take the job, i am sure others will. Gain the experience, learn, contribute and grow. Add value to your own portfolio. U will need a stepping stone somewhere, learn to crawl 1st, then learn to walk, learn to jog, learn to run, then u can tink of flying.

Generally people who have overtime depend on OT a lot. Basic pay is low. No choice. In times of bad economy, companies will control OT very very tight. Can few months no OT so u live on basic pay, quite bad, basically eat grass.

Aerospace job openings are starting to hire slowly.
