Need help regarding Court Summons

Hi,

I need advice please,

I have just received an Court Summons for my offence;

 

I park my bike illegally at my Void Deck,

Reason is my mother called me urgently 1 night.

 

My father has been showing violent behaviour at that point in time and I had to rush back.

 

The nearest MSCP is more than 5 minutes away and I did not want to lose any time.

Early next morning, I received a summons slip on my bike and I waited for the letter to come.

 

This was about 1 month+ ago.

 

I was at home when the postman came and gave me the Court Summons,

 

I called the Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council and that they told me that at the start,

it was only a Town Council offence but it got escalated to a court case.

I did not receive any letter because my father threw my letters away.

 

What can I do?

Will the court fine me heavily?

The Town Council told me it's out of their hands because I ignored their letters.

Several questions bro.

1) Are you staying at the location? If yes, do you have season parking?

2) Is this your first offence for the said location?

3) Did you make any call to police when your father was violent on that day? Or, has there been any previous incident where police was called because of your father's violent behaviour?

 

With these information available, perhaps you can mitigate your case.

wateva it is, come clean, admit the fact that u park illegally, and then in your mitigation, u states ur background problems with evidence where possible. this will show ur remorse and ur unitention to park illegally
