Where To Duplicate Key?

This hasn't actually happened to me, but I'm wondering how... If you lose your HISS key and you don't have a spare, can an extra HISS key be made? Can it be done:

 

1. Just from the bike ignition

2. Needs at least a duplicated non-HISS key ($3 type)

3. Needs another HISS key

 

If #2, then I should get a cheap duplicate made in case I lose the only HISS key I currently have. Then even though I can't start my bike I can at least get another HISS key made.

 

If #3, then I better pay to get another HISS key made just in case otherwise I would have to replace the entire ignition unit just for losing one key!

 

Anyone know?

i've made a spare the day i got my bike.

 

will always carry the spare along on trips up north, for obvious reasons...

 

as for the methods u were mentioning, it wont work as the HISS circuit is trained to recognise the particular key codings in the chip. reprogramming the HISS is possible at any reputable bike shop. i did mine @ Looi's

Yupz.... the $3 duplicate key only able u to unlock or lock the handle bar nia... u wont be able to start the engine with it... U need a duplicate HISS key to start ur bike....

Oh its ok to #3 to unlock and lock your bike. If you really lost it get it from your installment company. But if you paid all your money liao and the last key is with you. then too bad have to buy new set of ignition.

But i can said that the program actually get from your bike one. But if i am not wrong you still have to switch on your bike to duplicate the key

if u have accidentally lose ur last HISS key and there aint any spare at ur bike shop... then tats bad... cos not onli u have to change a whole set of ignition, u have to change ur CDI as well as it detects the coding from ur HISS key to enable you to start your bike.

 

Hiss key can be make at BOON SIEW and the cost .. aint cheap..

yah...cost me $83 to just make a spare key...

 

buy the programmable key=$30

shape key = $3

Back to boon siew to code key = $50

Will using the 3 bucks type be able to start the engine

HISS will never turn off itself automatically.

Only the indicating light will.

aiyo is something like anyone can dulplicate your key but the dulplicate key doesnt have a reader to activate your machines something for anti-theft sercurity If you lose your whole key its really too bad you have to change the whole ignition system in your bike not onli boon siew have the service some other bikes do have such but got to check it out but it dun comes cheap so better take good care of your key in addition dun drop your key too many times cos it might spoil the computer chip in the keys so better take good care of it Hope it do help to those in needs :smile:

HISS stand for "Honda Igniiton Security System".... Is it? I also duno..... cos i riding Kup Kia no HISS de.... Hee....

Thanks for the info guys. I got my S4 2nd hand and there wasn't any spare key (or the shop didn't want to give me) so I should go get a spare made just in case! Southern Motor says they can do it for $60 but I'll check with Looi's too...

if your super 4 is from boon siew the making of key only abt $58.00 everything inculded like shaping the key and program the key.

I bought the bike from Souther Motor - paid for it in full so no more installments. I dun think it was from Boon Siew so making the key will cost me more - prob will do it elsewhere. Thanks.
