Round Trip Distance: around 400km.

Money Required : enough for like 2 full tank and a couple of meals (ie RM250)

---------------------------------------

Itinerary:

17/06/2012 Sunday

0900 - Meet at GP Petronas, ready by est 1000am move out for breakfast at GP Town.

1030 - Pre-rollout briefing, Move off from GP town.

below are all Flexitiming with estimation

1300 - stop break at BHP petrol station along Mersing

1330 - est Reach Mersing Town, find lunch

1400 - Reach Penyabong. Free & Easy 1 hour to 2.

1530 - set off from Penyabong

1730 - reach Ayer Hitam NSH Exit (break at petrol Station)

1900 - reach either Kulai or Indah for dinner

2100 - est reach Final Checkpoint GP Petronas, pump petrol for home.

-----------------------------------------

Things to note:

1. This short trip is open to all riders, but preferbly all riding scooters

In order to maintain a safer riding speed and not breaking up into faster and

slower group thus resulting either the faster group when the wrong way or

the slower group break the trail and lost their way.

2. All participants will need to maintain a min. riding speed at 90km/hr, especially along North South Highway.

As we are mainly riding scooters, our gentler riding speed is of concern especially in North South Highway (NSH).

Participants (especially the smaller cc scooters) are reminded to ride on the left, overtake only when neccessary

and please exercise much anticipation before overtaking as the cars and trucks on NSH are travelling at speeds

much higher then on the expressways in Singapore.

For riding on the B-roads in Mersing, most roads are dual carriageway. Keep spped low when approaching corners

and when traffic is heavy Please exercise more patience sticking behind cars.

Overtake only when you know its safe. Most of the accidents on these B-roads occurred due to improper overtaking.

3. Bring the necessarily, including some direction and traffic senses (hehehe)

My marshals and I would try our very best to lead you guys on directions, so the whole way you would not have to

worry about getting lost or getting left behind. BUT, the marshals also have to always weigh the safety of their own

lives and also the remaining groups when doing the guiding. So to ride safe, we have to still depends on ourselves.

So some pointers that I have learned on being on a group trip, as below:

I. When left behind and in doubt, go straight.

We will always try to leave one marshal behind when there is a turn. So go straight, go slow and look out for marshals

when approaching a turn off or junction.

Try also to make it a point to ask the leads, what is the name of the next point, Malaysia have pretty much easy

road signs, even if you are stranded, you will not get lost, if you know the name of the place you are heading.

II. Make a point to know the few marshals, the lead bike and most important, the last man.

Even if the marshal is an indian guy riding a kup, you will recognized him and not mistaken him for another kup riding JB guy

and bypassed him to the road of getting lost.

III. No one rides slower then the last man.

The last man is an easy rider. He rides slow and steady and he will try to make sure no one is left behind.

IV. Lead bike leads. Only marshals are allowed to overtake the lead bike.

Yes, I know sometimes a slow lead bike is a pain in the ass but i believe in most times,

the lead bike is riding at a nice speed and also to have a safe riding speed for the rest to follow.

It is no serious offence if anyone in the group overtakes the lead bike, but to be fair to the lead bike and the whole group,

we will not go for bikes who lost their way, becus they overshot the lead bike.

V. Do your servicing and checks if neccessary, pior to the trip

We could have clocked thousands of trip experiences but we are no mechanics. If sway sway things break down,

all we have is a few numbers to call (ie tow truck, mech). We are not riding simple kups so there is not much things

we could salvage on the spot and we do not have space to bring the whole workshop with us.

But if you can, do bring some tyre repair kits, a spare belts and rollers, a spare spark plug and some convenient

tools to at least able to open up the fairings and access the engine.

VI. Last but not least. Your life, it is still your responsibility

We are old enough to read the line above, and know what needs to be exercised for basic personal safety.

Please have enough sleep and wear responsibly. I do not encourage you to join if you have a late drinking session.

aiya...you guys knew whats good and wats not...

*ok i leave the details as here...will add anything if i deem neccessary.

Hey Ardian,Which scoot u r riding? What happen to it?

Hi @confusehaha, I'm riding an MP3 for daily commute and I wish to do some touring with her.. As for the condition, she's really not well.. There's this "tick tuck tick tuck" sound that I can hear when the engine is at idle.. So recently happen to drop by the agent with a friend and they assume it's a minor thing, saying that it's just the transmission area that needs some attention but they're going to charge if I want them to have a look at it but somehow they still brought my bike to the back and after awhile they return to me saying that everything was fine and engine oil is still sufficient..

Then today, I decided to bring her to my regular mech who used to look after my X9.. He didn't hesitate to open up to take a look at the cause of the sound.. And to our horror, the engine oil wasn't even sufficient.. Dammit..! It's not the transmission area but more like the engine itself.. So sad..

So sorry to hear that.. Is the agent fault by not pouring sufficient eo? Or is the engine itself eating up eo?

After toping up the eo is the sound still persist?

:cheer:

Glad to have u in my life : ) Always love one another!

It's ok.. I'm not sure whose at fault.. But it does look like the engine itself is eating up the engine oil.. And yes the sound still remains, only slightly softer.. Anyway, I guess things happens for a reason.. Now that my scoot needs a restoration, it became another tempting project.. Wondering and researching if it's possible to big bore the 250cc engine to a 300cc.. Haha..!
