Hi guys,

 

I have a little problem with my bike jus this 2 days. maybe someone can clarify with me on the SP speedo meter, the bulb indicates low 2T when the red light starts blinking? or when u rev too high it will blink?

 

This 2 days when i tried pulling higher rpm, the light will blink at gear 1 ONLY. initially i tot was 2T low. but when i got back home and checked, 2T tank was half filled. Today tried pulling rpm again. Same thing happen. Red light blinks at about 6k rpm in gear 1 ONLY. 6k rpm isnt that high and my 2T tank is half filled. Does anyone knows roughly wad kind of problem is this and how to retify?

 

(No problem with other gears when i ride at 6k rpm at each gears) Havent tried pulling high rpm at other gears thou.

It will only light up when 2T is low. Perhaps ur 2T is not feeding into the engine properly?

because gear 1 has too much "revolution". Thus it take more 2T and at the same time, your bike move forward too fast and thus your indicator detected that you have no enough 2T.. Simple.. Pour in more 2T and fill up to 3/4 or full, does it still light up at gear 1 when you go RPM 6 on gear 1? :)

its true that gear 1 6k+ rpm will cause 2t red oil light to blink! but make sure gear 2 or 3 does not cause red light when above 6k rpm!

2 possible way...

 

-change better 2t oil. ( i used moutol 710)

and

-set 2t oil consumption more! (more smoke if used lousy 2t oil..)

reason why so to less the risk of piston scratch or jam.. thats what i did..

 

or another possible reason.. 2t pump might spoil or damage. but i am not sure! just make sure your 2t oil is visible in your 2t tank.

 

 

p.s: please try not to whack gear 1. its dangerous.. gear 2 still ok... but never gear 1.

Most probably your 2t intake is too low, when you are on gear 1, it usually needs more power to move off than the other gears, i'm sure your instructors have told you before. Thus if you whack hard on gear 1, it will consume more petrol and 2t oil than usual.

 

Simple tips to save petrol and 2t, move off gear 1 slowly and smoothly, try not to drag gear 1 above 6k rpm, then gradually increase your speed through 2, 3, 4 , 5 ,6. You can start whacking at gear 5 or 6 and even though you are travelling at a high speed you are actually using less petrol when you are moving with gear 1,2,3

And you can go to any bike shop and ask them to slightly increase your 2t intake, the problem will most probably be solved but remember increasing your intake means you have to spend more on 2t oil :) but it will be safer as you can be assured that the piston will not jam even when you whack hard.

What did the bike shop say? I have the same issue!

 

Did nothing to the bike oO i jus top up more 2T into the 2T tank. My 2T intake is already set to open "bigger"

No more blinking problem already =D was jus wierd cus i still able to see my 2T when i open up the tank. which means wasnt really very empty. maybe 1/2 filled. now gear 1 6k no problem. ^.^

Didnt have the blinking problem for the first 6 months i was riding the bike. but now the problem is retified itself. did nothing to it.

 

Currently using Mobil 1 Racing 2T

 

My 2T setting cost me 2 bottle per month. i think is more then average SPs already.

Normal riding days i don wack so 2 bottles per month seems more then enough intake =D Only during rounding when people tends to wack abit. then i pour in petrol tank for assurance ^.^Y

my belive is that if singapore riding also can jam your piston , might as well throw your bike away because in sg , u will never ride 100km non stop

 

my 2t light will on if i cross 900km

hi guys. im a new SP rider.. a noob question, how do i know if my 2t intake is high or low?

How do i set it?

 

You can judge by the amount of smoke coming from your exhaust.

Have to open the right engine cover if I rmb correctly, get the experts to do it :D
