wah kao... thats like 60% off the discounted price at SRW... which is the official dealer for agv...

no PSB sticker i guess? have you tried the one in SRW before buying from regina? it should feel the same for the padding. Another not so scientific test i tried is that the "shell" if its a different quality sounds different when u knock it with a hard object... if the sound is different... then well... i leave it to your interpretation.

2nd hand helmet hard to check for damage. cuz may have dropped a few times so although outside look alright, inside all cmi. unless recently bought and seller trustworthy then should buy, i wouldn't risk my head otherwise

I also just bought an AGV Numo from Regina that did not have the AGV Logo at the front. They gave me stickers to DIY. Is this normal? Am I paying for the real thing or is the helmet going to split in two if I get into an accident?

Posted

the helmet is definitely sold in a box with the stickers, visor clips separate in a ziploc bag with the user manual and safety manual. If u don't have any of these u may wan to ask about them..

operate a vehicle in a way that you benefit other road users pls - and meanwhile, stop whining! be responsible and be safe.

if helmet dropped will it affect the functionality?

yea its very hard to check a 2nd hand helmet

also the age.. you can't tell how long its been and whether the plastic still strong

helmet functionality includes the hard shell and the expanded polystyrene inside to absorb the shock. If the styrofoam inside break or chui due to droppet helmet better dont buy. helmet may be hard but will not protect you sufficient against concussion.

If you are really particular about helmet safety, once a helmet has been dropped or knocked with force, you can actually throw the helmet away. The reason is because while it may look ok on the surface, there may be microcracks under the lacquer already. This means that the integrity of the helmet is suspect. Presence of microcracks can weaken the structural integrity of the helmet by 50% or more.

A helmet also has a shelf life. This will be ~5-10yrs. The reason is because the materials in the helmet is held together by glues and resin, which disintegrate with time, thus sometimes you see cushions in the helmet falling out.

Not a lot of people have the money to do that though, thus most of us still wear the helmet unless the damage is sizeable enough to feel uncomfortable enough to ditch it. Can always turn old helmets into flower pots or key holders.

RIDE.
