Hi guys,

Is it true that for fi bikes that install after market exhaust pipes such as yoshi, akra, leo vince, etc, that the bikes fuel flow will be affected and only a fuel regulator such as power commander can resolve the problem?

Please share your experience. Thank!

That depends actually..

For slip on exhaust = not really needed but to fully optimize its performance then u will need to get that..If not, u can just disconnect ur batt for like 15 mins then put it back on and start the bike for the ecu to reset n do a stock calculation with the slip on..As the changes is minimal to optimize thus this is one of the way..

For Full system = Yes u do need to remap the bike with power commander as a full system is part of a major significant change to the bike...

there are other units besides power commander..Take a look at Bazzaz, Juice box etc...

Thanks for your reply Espada!

I installed a Scorpion slip-on on my bike in April last year and replaced the battery in July. However, I don't think the ecu reset helped...

There is this flat spot between 3000 - 4000 rpm and the bike will pull back or jerk during this range... its annoying sometimes. So I have to open throttle more to get out of this range to smoothen the acceleration.

From what I have read, seem like it is inevitible but to correct it with a PC. I heard about other brands too but also understand that many bike shops in Singapore are not familiar with them other than PC.

Any other suggestions? Thanks.

U can just get the pc and map it to correct the ratio since the resetting of the batt doesnt help as much...Pc is by far the cheapest i know compared to others..

What bike are you riding? I know that adjusting TRE does help on Suzuki FI Bikes. Google about TRE adjustment, there are plenty.

Fuel controller like PC will help alter the fuel mapping which will solved your bike flat spot. That is provided it is properly tuned by a tuner. TRE will not work for you. It only for some Suzuki and Kawa bike.
