I read some threads in this section, in which people said they were fined during an accident and also demerit points.

Just curious, In case of accident, no need to call police if no injury, right? So in this case will both the parties escape any fine or demerit points just because police was not called?

I kena accident before, but no police called because no injury. The car has claimed against my bike but its still under processing for last 4 months. Just curious whether I will face any fine or demerit points from the police

No letter from tp yet. All conversations is with the insurance company so far
Just to share from what I went through except I was conveyed to hospital. Made police report. Made alot of visits to the insurance company and now still waiting for reply from TP. Did you make a police report? I feel that its important as the other party will most likely twist the story. If unsure enquire with insurance company on what to do.

Nope, both parties didnt make police report as it is not necessary unless there are body injuries or hit and run case. We both have made reports at IDAC within 24 hrs.

Yes, if no injury, the police will not entertain you. As long no police involved, there shouldn't be any demerit or fine.

I would consider losing my NCD as a demerit or a fine... :faint:

Haha, true. But, fine is still ok lah, you just take a hit on your wallet and thats it.

But this demerits is very scary. If you are really unlucky it could add up quickly and you could lose your license.

Also "Offence" terminology given by TP has much more negative conotations, than mere increase in premium of insurance. It can affect your future appeals too. I would like to have a clean record with the authorities. :)
