there's supposed to be sound from the engine when its running. :) heh, jokes aside. what kind of sound? ticking, knocking? etc.. if its really that bad, not too worry as you should have a warranty from hong leong. your body weight will also affect your top speed. my bike is fully stock. i weigh 50kg and the bike can top 120. but i think the bike is still capable of going faster, probably with some engine mods. but then again i prefer mine the way it is. any faster i would have rather had not traded in my old bike ;)

Yeap, so many factors can affect a bike's top speed. Let me just name afew.

Wide tyre size

Wrong tyre pressure

Wrong sprocket combinations

Poor chain lubrication

Weight of rider

Additional loads like rear box

Quality of engine oil

Wrong carb settings

Wrong jettings

and the list goes on & on & on.

I would love to compare the weight of a stock pipe from Jupiter MX & Spark/X1R. By the outlook, it looks like Jupiter MX stock end can looks slightly larger. Maybe the inside of the end can is now different & making the exhaust flow more restricted, therefore making it feel laggy since I find Jupiter MX more quiet than Spark & X1R? It is my opinion lah. I might be wrong though.

If only I have a Jupiter MX to do some tests. Then maybe I can manage to troubleshoot this irritating laggy problem. Anyone wants to volunteer? We can start off by doing some changes to the carb jettings, CDI, airbox, sprocket sizes etc. All I need is your bike & your time. We sit down at the void deck & troubleshoot one by one & go for a test ride. If anyone is interested, PM me. I have a friend who is very knowledgeable and he has very good DIY skills. If anything goes wrong, me & my friend will bear the cost. I would love to do some 'research & development' and share with everyone here the results. :)

Dear fellow Jupiter kaki, been riding this bike for 2 months do need some advise from you all.

1 Do you guys change the Rims ( racing boy ) and tyres or just use the stock rims and change the tyres only.

2 If change the rims what size of rims and tyres brand you all recommend

3 Any good shop to go for the changes & bike services( don't want to be a carrot ).

Thank you all

If you wanna save $$$, get it done in JB.

Jupiter have wide rims which gives you better stabilility & smoother cornering. BUT it is very heavy. So if you love the stability and dont mind the weight, change to same size Racingboy rims. If not, change to the less wider & lighter ones which Spark & X1R are using.

For tyres there are brands like Dunlop, Michelin, Maxxis Diamond & Battlax. Up to you to decide.

Get the same size as what you are using now then. I forgot the front rim width. I think its 1.8 for front, 2.5 for rear. Double check by looking at your rims later. The size is stated on one of the legs.

Which shop in JB? My suggestion will be for you to actually survey it yourself. Ask every shop and compare which shop offers the best price. Diff shops offer diff prices to diff people. So I might get it cheap and who knows the boss might offer you a diff price?

Try comparing between Ah Boy, Feng Seng, Kok Seng, WK motorsports & X Performance (xifu)

It means it was too tight till it damaged the bearings. Hmm where you stay? Survey around your house area for best price. That's the best answer I can give for you to get an accurate price. :)

i wanna ask about backfire, why do bikes backfire?is it a bad sign if bike backfire?

Carb settings. Air/fuel ratio need to set. Fuel too rich. Lots of unburnt fuel in the combustion area.
