erm. tat bike at my avatar is actually nt my bike.

i haf e same paint work as him. bt lesser sticker. onli e nsr.

 

few days ago do full service of the bike.

summore my pipe keep popin out oil wil i turn throttle.

especailly wen e bike reach rpm 7-8.

my num plate back fairin wil haf alot of oil stain.

if gt pillion worst.

their shirt wil kanna.

 

can put cotten to reduce e oil from flowin out frm e bike?

sry duno where to ask this but is there a 'guide to buying 2nd hand bike' thread anyway in this forum ? as im going to get a 2nd hand sp , so just wanna look out for stuff i can check on the exterior part. thx.

hi got some question.

1)My bike all original. never open body. FC 180km full tank without reserve. consider high mah? i ask my frens. some say high, some say average. So if high what wrong with the tunning? any help?.

2)one more thing, what is RPM about? my sp start engine. meter show 1.2 RPM. Many frens tell me should be at 1 RPM only. help?

3)lastly, if i use finish my fuel, i open reserve. then go petrol kiosk i need to switch back to on. top up petrol. but what about the reserve? will the pertol go into the reserve when u are switch to on?

1) maybe there were sum internal mods b4 such as advancer or jettings or so, no harm spending sum money to check with ur mechanic to tune ur carb and check ur jettings to find out the prob, however, sum sp with mods will have a mileage of 180km.

 

2) that is ur idling status, it is up to u to set how much u wan it to be. just make sure ur idling is below 2 rpm. i personally choose to have the rpm at 1.8 so tat the bike warms faster and the pick up is a little faster and smoother.

 

3) if u have no more petrol and switch to reserve to go petrol kiosk, turn it back to on and pump how much u wan.... dun worry..... it will fill up the reserve.

sp tank b4 reserve is 7.8L, reserve is 2.8L total=10.5L

if ur fc km/L is more than 20 then is ok liao.. lesser then u need to go and find ur mech for tuning and check for any mod

 

FQ nsr: u can go to ur trusted mech and call them to tune lower ur 2t intake or premix?

 

Faulk: best is to find a friend that ride sp and tried alot of sp.. check any leakage of oil,e.g brake seal.. then sit on the bike and shake the bike,check the rear suspension is not too hard or soft.. get of the bike and touch the front fork for any oil, if got mean fork seal broke..

then check the sprocket and chain whether is still can last anot

start the bike, check for all working lights

rev bit by bit to check the respone

hear the sound of the engine whether it go metal knocking sound..

then for test ride: check for the rpm, must be smoothy go up

then check alignment by free hand, no wobble

check all brake whether got jurking anot, got mean disc brake bend

then check for any rpm that unable to go up(below red zone) etc, mean can no need to buy this bike liao

check all the gear whether all still work..

i think no more liao ba

best is to find a friend.. because most of it is through experience.

 

xiaowen:1 to 2 is ok, find the rpm that is easier to start ur bike

it will top up the reserve first then ur main tank.

7.8l main tank and 2.8l reserve tank i guess it's the litres given in the sp manuel?? cos i personally have pumped abit more den tat when u pump to the brim... think the measurement tat u have given is when u pump to the line and not to the brim?? :cheeky:

180km-220km is abt the average for sp.. depends on how u ride... but if u wanna ride a 2 stroke sports bike instead of a phantom or a wave or baja den i think u shouldn't be complaining abt the FC.. Juz my 2 cents

sp main tank is 10.5l. reserve is 2.7l. according to the sp manual which i had.

THANK ALL BRO for the helps. slowly understand my bike. one more thing. my bike at neutral gear got this "clar clar clar" sound. i ask motordiam. the person say nvm it is like that cause my clutch dunno what break. but if i clutch in then no sound alrd. it does not affect my ridding. but jus curious so i ask ard see anyone experience the same thing with me ?

it is alright for now, majority of the sp also have this case, it is just a loose clutch housing. if u change it the problem will arise again in a short while, if the machanic in the motordiam says it is ok, den u can actually ignore it for now till the problem becomes very bad.

7.8 + 2.8 = 10.6

 

anyway according to manual it's 7.8 + 2.7 = 10.5

but you can squeeze almost 13L

dun worry abt the sound... it's juz the knocking of the clutch housing cos it's loose... doesn't affect ur riding and the worst tat it'll get it'll juz get louder.. but for mine i didn't bother 2 change it and it didn't get louder.. :cheeky:

Guys, Find out something amusing today, so maybe post it and see whether you guys know the reason behind anot.

 

Today, (Damn Hot weather), I rode from bedok to orchard forum, then went down to forum carpack, (free) so while quencing behind the cars, have to hold on to brake and wait, I was clutched in, gear 1, and going down and braking when needed. As its a steep slope, hard braking is needed, then the moment came, the next time i brake, the engine stopped.

 

Serious, its not a stall engine when you throw your clutch without throttle. But it is when I brake hard, it engine stop, the next moment I tried to kick start, it started, but stop after awhile, still clutch in.

 

After getting out of the slope and into the carpark, i get it into netural,(abit hard) and kick start again, its working.

 

By the way, the bike is fine now.

 

Some other information, the temperature is quite high, around mid in the gauge, the petrol lvl at that time is near the red mark, but haven reach the extend that i need to change to reserve.

 

Thus, who knows what happen? I know this kind of thing happens some time in a million, but maybe someone can give a brief explanation on why i sudden braking will cause my engine to stop.

 

And the rev decrease also, now very close to 1.. Zzz
