After long ride for example 10km. Then u want to withdraw money. After withdraw, u start u bike still got alot of smoke. Common what.

 

If u really want to clear smoke... Gear 5 whack till red 11rpm. Is to clear all carbons. and unburned 2T. But still after overnight parking, 2moro start bike still have the same amount of smoke.

 

If the bike is cold, alot of smoke deposits. Try warm up bike for 5-7mins after starting. Used some extra time to wipe parts or go smoke (I dun smoke:dot:).

recently, i bumped into quite a few guys who we rode together so long ago, talking about good old days; and most, if not all had already upgraded and hanging out with their new groups.

and it's been almost a year since i've organised any gathering (used to be a weekly event?), gonna come out of retirement for once; for old days' sake

hi all, been riding my sp almsot 2 years. at first my FC was 250 before reserve, after many full services, the fc now sometimes can hit 200 b4 reserve, sometimes 180 - 190 den have to on reserve. Only mod was empty stomache done by previous owner. so would like to check with fellow members what size of jetting u all normally use for ur carb?

i understand that 252 is the main jet, i ever change to tat jetting b4 but still diff to hit 200 b4 reserve. from wad i noe sp fc should b able 2 hit at least 200 b4 reserve.

 

Original Setting : Main Jet 152, Pilot Jet 42. Mostly, the fuel consumption on every bike must on depend on the rider riding style...

 

Hello fellow sp riders. I just got my sp on the 8th of march this year. Being new,

there are several questions I would like to ask. Hopefully I don't get flamed. =_=''

 

1. Lots of white smoke coming out. What should I do?

 

2. Whenever I tried to start my bike, it won't budge. I have to kick and throttle before my sp comes to life. Would that damage my spark plug?

Welcome To SP Family...

 

1.) Let your bike warm up awhile before moving off. / Adjust the 2T setting. 2T setting turn on too rich.

 

2.) You may try to pull the choke located at the left side of the fairing panel to start the bike.

 

3.) Tune the idling switch located just oppsite the fuel switch to set the idling high. Is the start shape white switch.

 

Hope the above would help you out. Correct me if i'm wrong.

3. When hitting on the foot brake, the back lights are supposed to light up for sp right? (Pardon me for this really stupid question cause mine isn't working now.)

 

4. Is there anyway to lessen the white smoke upon starting of bike?

 

3.) Yes. The rear brake light should light up when you step on the foot brake.

If its not light up. You may go down to your trusted mech to get it change. Just a spring attach to the rear brake pump.

wah sian, a big $260 hole in my wallet.

initially onli wanted to do full service but then the mech told me my piston kinda screwed already. 1 of the piston ring jam already then wear n tear on the piston pin n bearing. so hafta change piston+pin+bearing.

 

Q1: how often must i change the piston r? or use until seize then change?

 

he oso showed me the hole that houses the piston, kinda burnt already. got black black mark but then he say no need change yet. if change mayb 200-300.

 

Q2: is it called the carb? this 1 is rarely needa change de rite?

 

additionally, my carb joint oso leaking oil. must change but then no stock. mech said this 1 no hurry to change, but then is confirm must change de.

 

Q3: the oil that is leaking out is si mi r? according to him its some electrical oil but then i dun really get him.

 

okay, so change new piston liao. the performance kinda sluggish leh. i must twist the throttle much more compared to the b4 overhaul.

 

Q4: is this normal? will it run better after run-in?

 

besides that, the exhaust sounds different. nicer than last time i have to admit. i hope its not because he tune some power settings, cause i got mention to the mech that try not to change the settings.

 

also, the idling onli abt 1300, which is the supposed recommended idling la. my idling used to b abt 1600 but then FC is arnd 32/L. i noe it sounds unbelievable but then its real! i monitored for abt 1kkm n its around there, pillon or not doesnt really matter. im going to monitor my FC 1st, if its too low i can go back to them n ask them adjust for me free rite?

 

Q5: if the FC is bad i can go back to them to tune for me free rite? since the overhaul is done by them.

Q6: below 100 is alrite rite? or must i run below 80?

 

got 1 mech say after 1kkm must come back change the engine oil, the other 1 say dun need cause the piston is lubricated by 2t. so im kinda confused.

 

Q7: so after 1kkm is need change engine oil or not?

 

1.) Check your piston is it scratch. If not, It will be useable.

Just change the piston ring & gasket will do.

If the piston is unuseable, you must change new piston, piston ring, gaskets, engine oil, coolant. If piston block scratch, there will be a big hole in your pocket.

 

2.) Just need to do servicing only.. Unless beyond repair / service.

 

3.) Unknown...

 

4.) For long run & long usage of the bike. It is recommmeded to do run in for the bike at 5KRPM ( 80KM / Hr ) for 1000 km. If you don't, for long run the piston would not last long. Correct me if i'm wrong...

 

5.) FC bad may due to carb setting, change jetting or rider riding style.

 

6.) 80 KM/HR.

 

7.) No. You may change the engine oil when you feel very hard to change gear or change to netrual gear or 3000km - 5000km.

Try to throttle more. dun stay at the blogging zone. 75km/hr - 85 km/hr ( 4 - 5Krpm ) is the blooging zone.

 

no la, i mean when change new piston. need change engine oil after 1kkm a not? cause i got hear ppl saying that b4.

 

normally i think around 3-5kkm should b fine. correct me if im wrong.

I am well aware of the situation that it depends variedly on the rider also but pls do let me know with some figures lets say:

2. how much approx servicing cost and requires servicing after how much time?

Change engine oil 5000km, 8000km or 10,000km, ( $10 - $30 )engine oil depend on the brand you use. Change spark plug 5000km. ( $5, $9, $18 )

Top up 2T oil every five to eight tank of petrol. ( $6, $8, $10, $12, $22, $28 )

Any normal engine oil will do. Fully synthetic 10W 40.
